Smoking poll needs freeping
NPDOR ^ | NPDOR

I got this poll in my email this morning. Just take a few seconds and follow this link to let your opinion be known.

Remember, though, if you allow a government to prohibit anything, the flip side of the coin is that the gov't can also FORCE use of that same substance.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: poll; pufflist; smoking
Just Another Joe, Francis and Beans, could you hit the "Puff-List" for this? thanx, Don

I just voted - here are the current results:

Do you support anti-smoking regulations? (eg., banning smoking in restaurants)

Yes, I support smoking restrictions. Non-smokers have a right to fresh air in public places
56%

No, I oppose regulations on smoking. People should be able to smoke wherever they want
9%

It depends on how strict the rules are- some smoking regulations I support, others I oppose
35%

I have no opinion on this topic
1%

The questions in the poll are, as usual, tricked up to get a desired response. I refuse to contribute to such dishonest antics.

You've got that right. I used to appreciate the polls from this group - not anymore.

Well, I figured option #3 was pretty weasel-y, for the "fence-sitters", so to speak. WHat they don't realize is that one "minor" restriction is the thin edge of the wedge, allowing further incremental restriction and finally total prohibition. Sound familiar?

Just wait until it's one of their oxen that get gored. The control freaks are already going after fast food.

I though F&B had left us after a disagreement with the forum owner.

Likewise. In questions 1 and 3, , it's rigged to approve of gunnerment restrictions. Question 2 is obviously an ambiguous question even many smokers would not answer, discouraging smokers from polling. It's a phony poll.

You're right, and one of the first sharks that went after tobacco companies was the first to file the lawsuit against the fast food industry (and of course because I'm talking about it his name now escapes me - he's a Uniersity Law professor - I can picture him but can't for the life of me think of his name)

If you want to smoke do it in private.

What is with you people who wish to deny private property rights to the owners of PRIVATE business establishments????
