That is going way to far for sure. That is out of hand. I can see some public smoking restrictions, but not bans at all.

The only "true" future event I can see for smokers in the future will be that insurance companies no longer cover health issues related to smoking. I expect that within 10 years smokers will be on their own with those medical related bills. They will have to sell off their own assets for medical care of their cancers and other related heath problems.
Same eventually for obesity as well.

You'll never see that, because social engineering doesn't work that way.

You're supposed to be held financially accountable for your neighbor's personal health. That way, you'll support nanny state laws to control your neighbor.

"The lifetime health cost for a smoking man is $72,700 and $94,700 for a smoking woman. For nonsmokers, the cost is $83,400 for a man; $111,000 for a woman.

"If people stopped smoking today, there would be a savings in health care costs, but only in the short term. Eventually, smoking cessation would lead to increased health care costs." --New England Journal of Medicine,1997;337:1052-7.

I think your talking about smokers who are on welfare. We have our own health insurance. No one is paying our way but us.

Aids sufferers will never have to worry.

try getting life insurance if you smoke and are a little old. Not for any price yo would want to pay. Perhaps the best solution is to establish smoking bars where only smokers or those ewho do not care one way or the other go.
