Hi All and All:

Kick ‘em where it hurts, is what I say.

The a-moral mongers who swarm our institutions are winning by default. They have captured our educational institutions, many of our churches, most of our bureaucracies, and a burgeoning proportion of our youth.

And our “entertainment” and media subcultures are their pro-active fellow travelers.

But we still have the numbers. If we will enter the lists we have what it takes to defeat them: Provided we have what it takes to assemble a reasonable semblance of unity of purpose.

We can lose only by witless and gutless default. Eh?

WAR BACK HOME

The flames of honour bright flicker as perversion’s blight
Seeps across the threshold of tradition;
As passively we accept perversion’s prime precept
That right and wrong are bigoted restriction
On new-wave norms in their diverse forms:
Paradigms where anything is right.

Freedom fights across the foam, while the enemy at home
Seconds Freedom’s power, to serve itself.
The fruits of Freedom’s privilege, vilified in persiflage
Of pampered intellect secure on tenured shelf.
Ah yes. We’re at war. And losing it because we are
Complacent in our security blanket dome.

But time and tide won’t wait. Who are sluggardly late
Will be overwhelmed and swept aside
By the raging storm of perverted norm
And lost in the unopposed tide.
Defeated, whimpering. Foolishly simpering.
Self-condemned to our dismal fate.

Must it be so? A resounding “No”!
Backed up by a stiffened spine.
Freedom is tough! It’s not good enough
To be tolerant and supine.
Nor to give in to the traitor within.
So let’s grab a clue. Let’s take our cue
From our troops. Ere our bell’s final toll:
“Let’s roll!”

I love your poetry Tom! Sorry I haven't welcomed you sooner to the Canteen. I'm so glad you are here with us. You and the other poets Cote has brought from the Belvedere Room are such a welcome addition to our Canteen group and mission. Thanks for your support of the Canteen and US and Canadian troops.
