You should have threatened to not vote for him, even if you intend to. What reason does he have to take your position into consideration if he knows he has your vote anyway? I'm sure you hate to lie, but since you're dealing with politicans..."when in Rome" comes to mind.

Steve! What other choice do I HAVE up here! If I don't vote for him, some Democrud will get his seat. Which is the better of two evils?

I know, SheLion. But he has to believe he runs the risk of losing votes or he has no incentive to change his position. By telling him you will still support him with your vote you have made your objection to his policy meaningless, at least make him think he is going to lose votes.

Steve, I received email from Irvin. The man isn't running again. He is having a retirement dinner up here on the 21st of Sept. I felt like an ass.
