I know, SheLion. But he has to believe he runs the risk of losing votes or he has no incentive to change his position. By telling him you will still support him with your vote you have made your objection to his policy meaningless, at least make him think he is going to lose votes.

Dear Irvin,
I have been giving this a lot of thought about your involvement about Smoke Free Everything in the state of Maine. I do not think you are the one I want in the State House. You will be voting for bans at every turn.
Considering the information available about tobacco smoke not being a health hazard that Human Services is spewing, we will not be voting for you, and I will spread the news to my family and friends as well.
Until you change your stance on this issue, we will not be voting for you. I hate to think the a Democrat will be sitting in your seat if you lose, it still might be a better alternative then having a RINO in there.
