My comments to the Human Services:

I was just sent this URL about the Human Services Announcement and their Smoke Free Restaurant Bill. All the restaurants in Maine HAVE been smoke free for several years now.

Don't you believe that it should be up to the owner to make his business smoke free or not? Why did Human Services have to stick their nose into this!

We are not all sheeple out here, Dora. This is just another reason for the Health Department to continue receiving funding from the Tobacco Settlement to which WE SMOKERS ARE PAYING FOR 100% PERCENT!

"Secondhand smoke kills, on average, one Maine person per day," explained Bureau of Health Director Dora Mills, MD. " (Show me the study and I will show you the truth).

The Federal Court threw out the EPA's 1993 ETS study in 1998 the link made by the EPA Report in 1993 between secondary smoke and cancer was thrown out in a federal court because the statistics were bent to support a predetermined conclusion and normal scientific guidelines were ignored.

I think anyone who tries to dismiss the findings of the U.S. Department of Energy labs at Oak Ridge, should be confronted with the question: "Are you saying that DOE researchers committed scientific fraud and that their findings on ETS exposure are untrue?" I'd like to see what the Human Services would say in response to that question.

ORNL Study On ETS

Also, I am putting this on my Internet Site at Free Republic to let the people in Maine know just where you stand on this. The people in Maine are NOT happy with the government control. We are fed up. We are also fed up with the blatant disregard of how you are spending the MSA money!

Did you see the RINO'S???? The RINO'S are endorsing CONTROL of businesses! I am not real happy with the way Human Services are spending the cigarette tax money!

Restaurants in Maine have been smoke free for several years, but I do not want Human Services to start telling bars/restaurants that THEY have to go smoke free as well. This control and miss-use of the Tobacco Settlement money has got to stop!

Do these doctors just need an issue, too? There are many Americans being treated for maladies such as diebetes who don't adhere to their diet regime or whatever but are treated a heck of a lot better than smokers. People with allergies to specific foods try to get the entire school system and other public places to ban their foods, ei, peanuts and/or peanut butter. The world has gone nuts trying to equalize the minority and even go far as giving the minority everything they want. I don't need the government and these not-so-do-gooders to save me from myself when they have so many bad attributes themselves. Remember the fitness expert who was a fanatic about smoking that died at a relatively young age jogging? I bet when he got to the pearly gates he thought of the many fun things he could have done with his life other than carping at others' for what he perceived as negatives. He got negated anyway!

RINO's?
Mills the Senator and Mills the M.D. (brother and sister) are at least socialists,She is a green party communist. The Senator is a disgrace and should be asked to leave the party. There isn't a spending bill he hasn't supported.
I'm disappointed in Amero and Joe Bruno.
I'll yell at Joe Bruno next time I see him, especially with his conflict with state contracts (Gould health).

This sort of thing is wrong.

No one can argue that smoking is healthy for you, but passing laws that limit the freedoms of individuals and constrain the businesses from offering legal services is puritanism and oppression.

"Secondhand smoke kills, on average, one Maine person per day," explained Bureau of Health Director Dora Mills, MD.

How many people are there in Maine?
When can we expect to be able to move to this uninhabited state and make it a conservative haven?

"A major exposure in the workplace to this toxic chemical continues to be restaurants, and we know that as a result of exposure, restaurant workers are much more likely to suffer from lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory diseases."

How they get away with lies of this magnitude is beyond me. It really is.
There must be so many sheeple out there that we could make yarn and knit a sweater for the worlds population.

Prove it, Dora!

If restaurant workers actually do suffer from higher rates of lung cancer, heart disease and respiratory disease it is probably from breathing burning cooking oils, eating fatty foods for free and being exposed to numerous members of the public on a daily basis. One breathful of burning olive oil is about as damaging as inhaling a cartonful of cigarette smoke at one time.

Chief co-sponsor for the smoking bans is Senate Majority Leader Chellie Pingree (D, Knox)

Keep in mind this is the SAME Chillie Pingree that is running against Susan Collins in the Senate. This woman is evil. Some say she is running out of funds, so I guess that is why Hitlery is coming to Portland on the 13th, (this Friday) to do a fund raiser for her.

"As a warm up to the Billion Dollar March, all Freepers might want to consider a "FREEP" of Hillary Rodham Clinton when she comes to Portland on September 13th."
