WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 Diesel exhausts from large trucks and other sources probably cause lung cancer, the Environmental Protection Agency concluded Tuesday in a report that buttresses a push to reduce truck emissions through stricter requirements for cleaner diesel fuel.

(Gabz, sorry I haven't been online. Had phone unhooked because we are having terrible lightening and I don't want to fry my MODEM again!) Believe me I understand!!! With all of the computer problems I've been having in the past few months.
I guess the antis will be un happy about this - something besides SHS causes cancer.

This is great! I have no doubt the fumes from a diesel (or even unleaded) engine cause JUST as much cancer as SHS. I doubt the liberals have even caught on to the connection yet. When they do, it'll be fun to see if:
This report is dissmissed out of hand. (faulty science, only one report, etc..) The report is simply brushed under the rug, so as not to interfere with all the "no smoking outside" ordinances that seem to be cropping up all over the country.
At any rate, definitely something worth saving when I get home, thanks! This gets my bttt!

That's another problem with junk science. Too often it is reported that so and so triples the risk of cancer. But if the risk is 1 in 1 trillion before exposure and 3 in 1 trillion after, it's pretty minimal and should be ignored.

a push to reduce truck emissions through stricter requirements for cleaner diesel fuel. Is this old news referring to the new diesel requirements promulgated in the opening days of the Bush administration that dealt such a blow to the truck industry that Peterbilt had to lay off so many, or is this a fresh push to further wound the industry?

Food, water and air also probable cause canser. The leftover clintonistas keep reveling themselves.

Here's the endgame:
Being born causes cancer
The ultimate goal - abort ourselves to extinction....

I'm visiting in SE PA. The other day I ran into (figuratively) a guy driving a '96 Passat TDI with >100K miles. Still gives ~50 mpg - he said "50 mpg". His only remarkable failure was the speedo's mechanicals. It looked good and the engine compartment looked great. He too complained about his no-service/stealership monkey-chanics overfilling the crankcase. Are you familiar with
