Enthusiasm wanes for the battle of Dr. Evil and Mini-ME (CA gov. race)

With all the nastiness, plot twists and power struggles of the 2002 California gubernatorial race between Gray Davis and Bill Simon, it's starting to look like a grudge match between two movie villains -- say, Dr. Evil and Mini-Me.

And California voters are increasingly turned off, complaining that a political choice between a megalomaniac and his evil clone is no choice at all.

If my choice is a Democrat sleaze or a Republican sleaze I'll take the Republican every time. However, in this case I think the California media is leading the charge to make Simon out to be something he isn't.

Simon has nothing to lose right now. He should pull out all the stops and start kicking some ass out there. No more passive campaign, time to put the offense on the field.
