Is it really in the GOP's interest for Bill Simon to be elected governor of California?
Do the math. Last year's state budget was about $103 billion; there's a shortfall of some $24 billion, yet Sacramento is looking at spending $100 billion this fiscal year, after raising revenue -- read: taxes -- by $4.6 billion. The state Constitution prohibits deficit spending, but that hasn't stopped Gov. Gray Davis and Sacto pols from creative bookkeeping.

--much as I would like to see the self-destruction of urban Commiefornia, it would unfortunately take the rest of the country with it--

--and it only goes that to allow Commiefornia to have four more years of Gray Grey Davis decline will do just that--

Yeah...and your worst nightmare....Shrillary - Greyout in 2008

I don't think that's your worst nightmare. It might be rather pleasant, because they would lose.

Saying that Brown's terrible goverance gave Calf. 16 years of pubbies has no meaning in today's Calf. When Brown fooled votes there were Anglos in the state to punish the evil donkey. But now ALL of those who WOULD vote to punish Greyout at the end of his second term, will be long gone by then, unless the Democrats pass laws against leaving the State. Remember, the hords from the South think of themselves as modern day pirates raiding El Norte. No candidate for gov in Calf. will ever be in danger by promising to take from the Angelos (and few leftover Blacks), and giving to the La Raza gangsters.

If Simon loses, he ain't gonna come back in '06, and probably neither will any other Republican. Say hello to Governor Bustamante in January 2007. The Dems will rule until doomsday... :-(
