O'Reilly: Bush Insider Claims Clinton Deal Torpedoed Pardongate

A Bush administration insider has privately leaked word that a deal was struck between Democratic congressional leaders and the Bush White House not to prosecute Bill and/or Hillary Clinton on an array of charges related to the Pardongate scandal, Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly claimed Friday on his nationally syndicated "Radio Factor" show.

"A very highly placed source - and I mean this guy knows what's going on in the Bush administration - told me about a month ago that when President Bush took office he had meetings with all of the Democratic leadership.... one on one meetings in the Oval Office," O'Reilly said.

"The Democratic leadership made it quite clear to Mr. Bush that he would not get any cooperation - zero - on the part of the Democrats in the Senate and in the House if he pursued any kind of a criminal investigation against Bill Clinton."

O'Reilly said that according to his source, "Basically they said look, if you embarrass us - by us we mean the Democratic Party - if you, Bush-Ashcroft, indict Clinton on bribery or go after Hillary or any of this - we're gonna shut you down. We're not gonna do anything. You're not going to get any (legislation) passed if four years."

The talk host's highly placed administration source said Democrat leaders then explained to Bush, "If you put this thing on the back track and just play the game the way we've always played it here in the Justice Department since Watergate, where the powerful protect each other - then we'll keep an open mind on your legislation."

O'Reilly never indicated who his source might be beyond describing him as "very highly placed."

On Thursday, U.S. Attorney for New York's Southern District James Comey, a Bush appointee, ended a key part of the probe into whether the Clintons traded pardons for political favors and campaign contributions.

And it appears a fair number of people are willing to lap it right up. You can set your watch by this junk.

That's the frustration. And many times you can't just let it go unchallenged.

Kristol? Would his drivel be worth more than lickspittle, if the people were awake?

Bunk! Dubya is a decent and a wise man who does what he believes is RIGHT, I'm sure the LAST thing he would do is worry about the Democrats!

That's hilarious. George W(imp) Bush is just that - a wimp. He's done nothing but let Clowntoon and his oily coterie skate on all their sleaze, while signing off on First Amendment assaults, subsidies for Welfare Farmers and steel companies - now he wants to piss away billions more on home loans and "free" pills for old panhandlers . . . . all so he can buy votes.

Just another useless, Big Government Republicrat.

What a wimp.

That is a great spoof quarter.

Actually, I've seen such a quarter. A beer buddy who is into coin collecting has one.

The Bush administration had no intention of ever pursuing any criminal charges in this case

Bingo. He didn't need to be blackmailed or bargained with.

I don't understand how this is critical of President Bush.

It's not. If anything, it gives him a sorely needed excuse.

I tend to agree with you Miss Marple; I also tend to not believe anything produced by NewsMax and Chris Ruddy.

Hi, kiddo! Where ya been?

BTW, it ain't Kristol, although he may be the blower here. It's the FBI files!

The FBI was completely politicized by the klintoons, top-to-middle-management, and is now an arm of the DNC. There are many good field agents, but if they speak-out, they get the very-living-shit kicked out of them!

Watch what happens to that Lady-agent from Minnesota and the guy from Arizona (I can't remember names). They're gonna get creamed!

Stay well, vigilant, and well-armed. I'm goin' fishin'!..........FRegards

Don't take it personally YaYa, but that's how I see it.

I'm with you Fred. Remember how much backmailing and threatening was going on when clinton was in White House? Most of the same RATS are still in Congress.

What has the Bush administration done to prosecute any of the clinton criminals?

You know, you may be on to something. President Bush wants Homeland Security to separate the security people out of every department, EXCEPT THE FBI AND CIA.

CIA is mostly overseas, so that makes sense to leave is out. But why leave the FBI separate?

AND WHY IS HILLARY CLINTON INSISTENT THAT THE FBI BE INCLUDED?

President Bush campaigned on four main issues. Prosecuting the Clintons was not one of them. We who hate Clintons would pay to see them behind bars, but our President sees achieving that scenario as derailing his entire presidency. He is very disciplined, and when he took office he started working on HIS program.
Consider this: he has three or more public events every day, and the American media can still sell the public that he is a do-nothing president. Think how much 'positive face time' the networks would give him if a Clinton indictment was underway. Please be realistic. Buy a voodoo doll and stick pins in it if it will make you feel better. And work to get Republicans elected so our President may get some of his agenda passed.

OK, assuming that this is true... since we clearly haven't seen 'his' legislation passed, and we haven't seen any movement on nominations... then evidently the rats didn't get any guarantees from him.

Not necessarily, it could very well mean the RATS lied AGAIN.

Could it be that this was leaked to let us know why the Bush Admin. is not going after the clintons.

If I had information on clintons and wanted it out, I would leak it without giving my name....remember Linda Tripp, who told the truth, and what happened to her. The RATS may be in power again and they don't forget.

Re: Post #97

I worked to get Bush elected and I'm working to get Republicans elected in my state. However, I don't approve of a lot Bush has been doing this past six months or more.

Bush didn't campaign on AMNESTY but is trying hard to get it. He did campaign on school vouchers, but hasn't tried very hard to get it....you know the story. I'll work for Bush again UNLESS a better Republican runs against him.
