First I have no clue what the Bush and handlers are thinking. But actions tell me its all politics. The out on the military is its the only one who can handle direct actions. Even in natural disasters, its the military. Why? They have the resources. In time of war, your not going to call the local police, are you now?

We have a law that is supposed to keep the federal military out of matters within our borders. I personally like that concept. I also like the concept where the military is led by an elected official. But thats just me.

You are correct. The military is suppose to be kept out of matters within our boarders. Except in times of war. If you don't think this is war and a direct attack on US Soil, then you need to wake up. This is war, 5000 Americans are dead and I am sure not sleeping well at night thinking the local police are on ther job.
