"The US Army is still mad that the Army Air Forces were separated from them in 1947 as the US Air Force. Reorganization worked there, didn't it? "
That is debatable............

You know I did miss that declaration of war by the Taliban. It happened on 9/11. They just aren't civilized or manly enough to do it on the combat theatre. We have our way of declaring war-they have theirs. Americans died. You can let yourself be caught up in the legalities of declaring war and I'll support our president as he makes steps to secure our homeland.

Yes, I enjoy reading the rantings of the clinically insane.

You want me to read the whole 500 post thread before responding? Cain't do it, sorry. I read the AltaVista noos and here's my thoughts (or thought, as it were.)
Rightly or wrongly the Administration's in trouble, or thinks it's in trouble because of the pre-911 warnings it missed or is thought to have missed. Solution: create another Federal bureaucracy. The sheeple, many of whom luv Mommy Goobermint, will luv it. Focus groups luvd it, sheeple will luv it!

I believe that any uneccasary government expansion must be controlled, but I believe this was necassary. As Bush said in the speech, thier not hiring 119,000 new employees. They are simply condensing experts in many fields who already work for the government into one agency so that they may work with maximum efficiancy. The Department of Defense was created for the same reason, and it has proved quite beneficial.

The reason we'll have more terror attacks is because we stick our nose where it doesn't belong. Kinda like you do. LOL!! This coming from the "Mr. Buttinski" of Free Republic!
So, if we just sit back, bring all our troops home, terrorists won't hit us?
Surely, you're not that naive.
To: Torie
On a more serious note, it doesn't. Congress has already authorized 37 billion for HS. Money will be spent and there is no better way for the government to spend its money than in defense of its citizens, eh?
The current organizational tree vis a vis? homeland defense resembles a tree that has been cut in half with the remaining tree growing for another twenty years. An ugly sight.

So if an attack is made by a foreign power on the United States government they are only attacking the government not the United States? The difference is that we acted in self-defense. We did not initiate the war. We merely took out those who sponsored terrorism against US Citizens.
If it makes you feel good to use symantics, be my guest. If you can't tell the difference between what they did and what we did, I feel very sorry for you.
Never forget, they attacked our citizens-we attacked their political powers. Is that too much truth for you?

I see you didn't bother with the web addresses, no matter, they are there for other reader's to explore. Never let facts get in the way of a good nap.

It's okay to trust in God, but he's trying to help us ... he sent us Bush. Imagine the nightmare of President Alphonse Gore appointing William J. Clinton as Secretary of Internal Security. He would be like the Director of the KGB - but here in the United States.

That is debatable............ Ask Saddam Hussein what he thinks of the US Air Force.

"Actually, I lay much of the blame at the feet of eight years of Clinton, moron."
Though you are correct, I blame Bush for not fixing the problem. Lets start with Tenant and the CIA. You can't blame Clinton for not cleaning house. he did, and cleaned it out. Bush needs to do the same.

It's okay to trust in God, but he's trying to help us ... he sent us Bush.God sent us President Bush? Did he send us his Dad too? Oh, yeah, did he send us Clinton also? Or did the guy with the tail send him?
To: Big Guy and Rusty 99
Oh, so that's the difference between the two. Thanks.

Sadly, some just wish that he were in trouble-even at the cost of doing what is right.
We'd hate for the other guy to get the credit for doing the right thing, wouldn't we?
