"He's covering his butt by saying "I talked to the White House this morning."yeah right, he talked to someone in the White House. Give me a break. That's his major problem, NO one talks to him from the WH.

"...put out by the bureaucracy"
Huh? The bureaucracy? What is this, Good Cop, Bad Cop?

The question remains who is running the government?
Schizophrenic responses will not do.
Rush and Bush are on the same page as far as Kyoto is bad and would ruin the economy, which must be preserved.
The question remains as to how much the holdovers will contine to be left in place by Bush in postions he has appaointment control.
Actions not just words will resolve this.

"The bureaucracy seems to operate like they live in an unlighted cave," Bush said darkly."I've deflated that windbag Limbaugh," Bush said breathlessly.
To: Don Myers
Remember that so-called "reality" you mentioned on the other thread?
To: CoolGuyVic
Although I didn't partake in the discussion yesterday, I'm thankful for what Rush had to say. As I see it, the administration (including the President) were testing the waters to see how well this would go over. Had this really been the result of excessive bureaucratic autonomy, Ari would have been out there retracting it within an hour of it appearing on Drudge. Thanks in part to these "Bush Bashers", the waters were too hot. I love this President, but like any politician he is going to try to get as close to the political center as we as his core supporters allow him to get.

I was asked if I wanted to go to a Costume Ball hosted by the EIB network, I said "Sure, I will slap some egg on my face and go as Rush Limbaugh" :-)

I want all those that backed Bush blindly and agreed with him that global warming was a man-made disaster in the making to claim they are idiots. You should hold your breath. And keep holding it.

It's about jumping to conclusions without all the facts. It's happened before on FR. You're talking about me aren't you? You think I jump to conclusions. Well, we'll just see what the moderator has to say....
...excuse me? You were talking to Laz?
Never mind. (he said blushingly)
To: rintense
Go ahead and say it, you think he's cute right?
To: CoolGuyVic
Good, I'm glad he said it.
However, "The beauracracy did it" isn't good enough. I realize that a lot of these folks are entrenched federal employees, but the President needs to have checks and balances by putting his own people into positions to insure that this crap can't happen.
Have an office within each agency which does nothing but vet this nonsense and prevent it from being used to undermine the President's policies.
Anyone have a problem with that?
To: Jethro Tull
The true damage that comes from this will be the intellectual dismissal of the countless studies conservative scientists put forward (at great sacrifice I might add) debunking this nonsense.Wrong. It will allow them a greater microphone as "equal time."
The "Defend Bush at all Costs" crowd
For anyone who's lurking, Jethro Tull is a well-known Bush-basher from Day 1.

Well, of course, Rush didn't SAY who he talked to at the White House; as usual, he left that hanging for all his minions to conjure up dreams of Rush having a hotline right into the Oval Office.
He left the impression that HE is on the inside. Wonder why he went out on such a limb yesterday if that is the case?

I wonder whether he's distancing himself due to the conservative reaction, or whether the report slipped through the cracks on its way out?The President is NOT a weenie who governs by polls or sticking his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.
The PREVIOUS president governed according to trial balloon.

Bush didn't disavow the report, he simply put it in its place. See my link and comment above if you want to read it.
To: MamaB
I don't listen to Rush anymore-I exited when he called Bush Clintonesque and a liberal. So, I don't know if he claims to have spoken with George Bush or not. I did see the NBC clip last night and I was appalled at Rush's behavior. Sickness and family troubles always seem to come in waves, when we are most vulnerable. I'll keep good thoughts for you and your daughter.

If the report doesn't get released, then the left can say, "What did he know and when did he know it?"
Also, I'd like to know if releasing or holding the report is something Bush would personally control, or if the EPA acted on its own to do so. Lots of unanswered questions.

"It's about jumping to conclusions without all the facts. It's happened before on FR. It will probably happen again."
Say it ain't so...
