June 3, 2002 -- IT is quickly becoming one of the worst-kept secrets in Washington: Republicans are no longer an anti-government party.
The new $170 billion farm-welfare law - $1 million per subsidized farmer - is only the latest and most tragic example of the GOP's surrender.

Nuking an agency is a tall order (even for an honest Texan), but what is really telling, is that GWB has FAILED TO USE HIS VETO...EVEN ONCE! Contrast this with Reagan, GHWB, and Clinton, and GWB looks like the GOP's version of Jimmy Carter...or maybe even Michael Dukakis.

amen to that!

Who does this author think he is, criticizing Bush/Republicans?
Who does Rush Limbaugh think he is, criticizing Bush/Republicans?
Don't these "obstructionists" know that they are supposed to kiss the feet of our socialist dictator?
When Clinton lied to the the public, the Republicans were outraged! When Clinton and Democrats expanded government spending and power, the Republicans were outraged! But when Bush lies to the public and spends taxpayers' money like a drunken sailor, the Republicans laud his political acumen and relish in the belief that he is stealing Democrats thunder (agenda)!
You Bushies are threats to freedom!
You Bushbots are threats to American sovereignty!
You Bush cheerleaders are as pathetic as were the Klintonistas, who stood by their "man" no matter what!
I voted for Bush. I supported Bush with every fiber of my being, because I believed that he was a man of his word -- and a true conservative. Well, I was wrong! I screwed up again! I voted for a big-government socialistic LIAR, again. But at least I'm not as pathetic as the Bushies, because I'm jumping ship. I will not allow myself to be a battered citizen. And I will not make excuses for socialists and liars.

The GOP told me that if I voted for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the White House who would sign McCain- Feingold.
The GOP told me that if I voted for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the White House who would put political expediency ahead of the Constitution.
The GOP told me that if I voted for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the White House who would vote for the NEAs agenda on education spending.
The GOP told me that if I voted for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the White House who would make the tax code even more complicated.
The GOP told me that if I voted for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the office who would leave the Clinton executive orders in effect.
The GOP told me that if I vote for Pat Buchanan it would put a man in the White House who would be sympathetic to illegal aliens.
Well I did vote for Pat Buchanan - Every one of those things that the GOP predicted has come to pass.

LOL, almost coughed up a lung, my chair rolled back over the German Shepard's tail. Never heard her make that kind of noise. Good one.

We are Bushborg we will add your ideological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile, negotiation is irrelevant, talk radio is irrelevant, your votes are useless.

You are righteously indignant about Bush. He has belied his conservatism and betrayed America. I'm especially incensed about the Bush-Vincente Fox illegal alien alliance, especially in light of the threat this country faces from terrorists.
I'm in total agreement with your critical comparison of the blindness of the Bushies, Bushbots and Klinton apologists. Its time for them to go beyond their comfort zone and take a critical look at their misplaced hero-worship.
I understand that George W., his father and his grandfather, all belonged to the Order of the Skull and Bones at Yale. Is it possible that Dubya's allegiance is to its objectives of world government rather than that of the sovereign United States of America?
To: Dixielander
Is it possible that Dubya's allegiance is to its objectives of world government rather than that of the sovereign United States of America? That appears to be the only route for getting and holding a major office in the federal government. But what do I know? I'm just a wacko conspiracy theorist who doesn't understand Bush's secret conservative plan.

"I have been in Congress for nearly 18 months now, and I'm still waiting for an opportunity to vote on a bill that makes government smaller, not bigger," complains Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), one of the few genuine fiscal conservatives left in the House.
Good Luck, Dude .. and Hang In There! I'd Like to Think That Bush has Veered Left to Disarm the DemRats of Their Issues and that He will swerve back Right After the Election and Finally Stamp Conservatism across this land.. But ... Don't Hold your Breath :-)

I'd like to start a wish list on that one beginning with the Dept. of Dumbing Down (Education).
