Rush is NOT being trashed because he disagrees with Bush; he's being trashed because he took a flat out distortion from the New York Times, of all places, and made a show out of it.
How did that happen?
Why isn't someone on the Bush team making sure Rush gets the report and the right spin before the NYT can distort it?

Number one on the hit parade is CFR.

LOL!!! One thing for sure is our President has got more moves than a rodeo bull just out the gate...designed perfectly to throw most everyone off.Your right harpo, I have yet to understand the big plan. Maybe you could explain it.
To: Miss Marple
I tended to consider him more of just a "bot." Sorry, I just had to share.

If I'm to understand this properly, Rush is upset not at current policy, but at the potential long-term ramifications of agreeing that human actions are to blame for global warming. IOW, by ceding the premise to the liberals we may have changed the argument from "Is global warming legit?" to "What should be done about global warming?" Am I missing something here? i don't think you are missing anything. i think you are one of the few who GOT THE POINT.

We don't vote like they do in Iraq. We have free and open elections... What is your point? First of all, how do you know how they vote in Iraq, or how it differs from this country? Secondly, elections are about as corrupt in this country as many other countries. For example, the voting polls stayed open until 10 PM in St. Louis -- long enough to ensure that a dead man beat John Ashcroft. Jimmy Carter has refereed many elections in banana republics and declared them open and free. Where's the freedom in those countries? My point is this: Freedom does not come from voting -- it comes only when individual Rights (not privileges) are protected. The State has been substituting privileges for Rights for so long you apparently haven't even recognized that we have lost most individual Rights.

Excuse me? Do you think it's the White House's job to do Rush's show prep for him?
Believe me, this is another one of Rush's "Now, I know I've made some of you mad" routines.

Can I infer that illogical and unrestrained policy making would make you happy? No, you can infer that conceding to the democrats when you don't have to is not smart politics.
Tell that to the dead skells pushing up poppies in Afghanistan.
On that I agree. Bush has done a great job in taking the fight to terrorists worldwide. I just wish he would take some strong measures to reduce the threat of more terrorist attacks here. When Rummy tells us that it is highly probable that terrorists will use WMD in America and our government meanwhile is unwilling to find and deport those who fit the profile of potential terrorists among other common sense measures--SOMETHING IS RADICALLY WRONG.

Why isn't someone on the Bush team making sure Rush gets the report and the right spin before the NYT can distort it?Perhaps they mistakenly assumed that Rush, being an adult and supposedly being the voice of reason, could be relied on to actually READ the damn report before opening his mouth about it.

Number one on the hit parade is CFR.Oh, so this is the secondary issue that concerns you here at home? Anything else?
To: Sabertooth
The better question is: Why is Rush using the NYT as a source when he never has trusted them before?
To: 3catsanadog
I think Bush is appeasing the liberals till the 2002 election; he can't do anything till the obstructionists in the Senate are elected out. Hopefully Republicans will get back the Senate in 2002 and then I foresee Bush pushing his conservative agenda full force. Not full force but a stealth attack!

Do you honest to goodness believe there is no such thing as global warming, whatever the causes? I believe the science regarding global warming is by no means conclusive enough to warrant a claim that human actions are causing warming. So, I would not cede that point to the global warming crowd.
And I think you're busy running around here, claiming you're misunderstood, that everybody thinks you're bashing Bush when you're not -- when you really are.
The other night you told me you knew I was on your side, even if I'm a pain at times. I even went so far as to say I don't think this issue is a big deal - but that at the same time I don't understand why people are demonizing Rush. Why can't people simply disagree without questioning his conservative credentials?
To: Howlin
So you're admitting you are willing, most like desiring, to
destroy the Republican Party to prove your point? Nope, but if they insist on drinking the koolaid, not much I can do.
To: BillofRights
First of all, how do you know how they vote in Iraq, or how it differs from this country? Perhaps she is able to read and comprehend the English language, which is REPLETE with ariticles about how the Iragi elections are "held."
Why don't YOU know this?

Then finding a release date is pretty important. Perhaps, though, the thinking was that since this report isn't any different than what the President said in June 2001, there would be no cause for spin control.
To: BillofRights
So what's your point? How has Bush treaded on any of your freedoms?
To: itsahoot
I think you flatter yourself; the very few of you aren't going to destroy this party.
