Sacramento, California, May 3 (Bloomberg) -- California Governor Gray Davis is working to cancel a $95 million contract to buy software from Oracle Corp. as the state attorney general launches a criminal investigation into the deal.
Davis's director of legal affairs, Barry Goode, is meeting with Oracle officials today and throughout the weekend to talk about the possibility of rescinding the contract to buy database management software, said Davis's press Secretary Steve Maviglio.

It is amazing how fast Davis can move on something this miniscule compared to the Energy crisis!
Of course this might impact him personally in his quest for Reelection!

I have my doubts this article will hurt Davis' reelection chances. Most of his voters are either:
1. Too lazy to read.
2. Unable to read.
3. Unable to read english.

You are wrong to imply that the Gov.or any Democrat official did anything wrong with the Oracle deal. I know this is true cause Grey said they`re innocent and he would never lie, would he?

It is amazing how fast Davis can move on something this miniscule compared to the Energy crisis! Yep. Davis' instincts are EXACTLY like X42's. It's all about HIM, and his political future. He couldn't care less about the people living here. I despise him.
But, he's not NEARLY as sociopathically sophisticated as clinton. In fact, he's a piker. A bumbling, inept, fool. Going down for the count.

It's amazing that this is the second (that we know of) business deal that California signed in a 12-month period that Davis is now scrambling to undo, and that people still want to send him back for four more years.

Seems that way doesn't it!

Attorney General Bill Lockyer said that lawyers in the department's criminal law division have opened an official investigation into the contract... Davis and Lockyer both took campaign donations from Oracle when the immediately after contract was awarded
Whom are these jokers trying to fool? If this is not the case of inmates running the asylum then what is???

Once again Gray Davis rides in on white horse to try to save the State of California....from himself.

More like the fox guarding the henhouse! Att. Gen Warlockyer is the biggest crook to ever grace the good offices of the top-cop-shop in our state. He's going to end up investigating himself on our behalf! What a joke.

The DNC sure can pick'em .. LOL

Hi everybody, 1st time poster. I get the Sacto Bee, and one thing that I have noticed about their coverage of this story is that there is NEVER a mention of "Mr. Evil" Larry Ellison, founder and CEO of Oracle, and, not coincidentally, famous Clinton kneecap sucker, campaign contributor and sweetheart-deal maker. It's as though he didn't exist - you want to tell me that he wasn't in complete control of this deal??

ood point about Larry Ellison...Evil Larry Ellison.
He's Clinton's close friend and the person who insisted (by way of money) that Clinton go after Microsoft ....which lead DIRECTLY to that Stock Market tumbling! Ellison is DIRTY since he hangs with the Dirty Clintons.
