The Arafat Apologists
By Marti Stapp © 2002 Published 04. 8. 02 at 17:54 Sierra Time |
I am fatigued with the inconsistencies of the apologists for Palestinian terrorists. On the one hand, a group of people are deliberately strapping bombs on young people and encouraging them to kill innocent civilians. On the other hand, an army that represents an elected Democratic government is striving to protect their nation from suicidal bombers. To deny that Palestinian terrorists are just as much terrorists as the 9-11 murderers is sophistry. To pretend that any Nation, including the Nation of Israel, has no right to protect its borders is lunacy. What do we expect from Israel? Suicide from inaction? Iraq is now offering twenty-five thousand dollars to any family willing to sacrifice a kid to be a suicidal bomber. Where is the equation between military personnel (on meager salaries) trying to interdict terrorism in THEIR country and suicidal maniacs who think they are going to get 72 virgins for murdering Jews? The apologists can call them proponents of a Jihad or even "freedom fighters" if they wish. I shall call what they are doing exactly what it is - a reign of terror perpetrated by terrorists bent on driving every Jew in Israel into the sea. Never mind that these cockroaches were offered ninety-five to ninety-seven percent of their "wish list" and they turned it down. Their public protestations are lies. They obviously do not want what they tell they world they want and anyone who subscribes to their propaganda is naive. According to portions of Arafat's biography (in an online report by Good Morning America), this is the REAL Yasser Arafat, the leader of the militant Palestinians: Yasser Arafat YASSER ARAFAT came before the U.N. General Assembly in 1972 with an Arafat was born in 1929 to a successful merchant father and a religiously devoted "For our part, we will honor our commitments. ... [O]ur participation in the great peace process means that we are betting everything on the future." Arafat, on the signing of an accord in September 1995 to extend Palestinian Rule in the West Bank After the war, Arafat studied civil engineering at the University of Cairo. He headed the Palestinian Students League and, by the time he graduated, was committed to forming a group that would free Palestine from Israeli occupation. In 1956 he founded Al Fatah, an underground terrorist organization. At first Al Fatah was ignored by larger Arab nations such as Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, which had formed their own group - the Palestine Liberation Organization. It wasn't until the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, when the Arabs lost the Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and West Bank, that Arab nations turned to Arafat. In 1968 he became the leader of the PLO. "I don't know anyone who has as much civilian Jewish blood on his hands as Arafat since the Nazis' time." Former Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon, October 1995 For two decades the PLO launched bloody attacks on Israel, and Arafat gained a reputation as a ruthless terrorist. But by 1988, when he told the United Nations that the PLO would recognize Israel as a sovereign state, Arafat had warmed to diplomacy. Then in 1993, the unthinkable happened. The terrorist leader, who had rarely been seen without his signature ghutra and scruffy beard, met with his avowed enemies. The secret peace talks in Norway led to the Oslo Peace Accords with Israeli Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin. The agreement granted limited Palestinian self-rule and earned Arafat, Rabin and Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize. In January 1996 Arafat was elected the first president of the The following essay was written in 1988, only a couple of years Before the murder of Rabbi Kahane by an Arab terrorist, Egyptian-born El Sayyid Nosair, who not only was convicted of the murder but also of conspiracy in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Israel Today & Always: Dear World by Rabbi Meir Kahane "....You are upset that we repress the poor Palestinians. You are deeply angered over the fact that we do not give up the lands of 1967, which are clearly the obstacle to peace in the Middle East. Moscow is upset and Washington is upset. The Arabs are upset and the gentle Egyptian moderates are upset. Well, dear world, consider the reaction of a normal Jew from Israel. In 1920, 1921 and 1929, there were no territories of 1967 to impede peace between Jews and Arabs. Indeed, there was no Jewish State to upset anybody. Nevertheless, the same oppressed and repressed Palestinians slaughtered hundreds of Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Safed and Hebron. Indeed, 67 Jews were slaughtered one day in Hebron - in 1929. Dear World, why did the Arabs - the Palestinians - massacre 67 Jews in one day in 1929? Could it have been their anger over Israeli aggression in 1967? And why were 510 Jewish men, women and children slaughtered in Arab riots in 1936-39? Was it because of Arab upset over 1967? And when you, World, proposed a U.N. Partition Plan in 1947 that would have created a Palestinian State alongside a tiny Israel and the Arabs cried and went to war and killed 6,000 Jews - was that upset stomach caused by the aggression of 1967? And, by the way, dear world, why did we not hear your cry of upset then? The poor Palestinians who today kill Jews with explosives and firebombs and stones are part of the same people who - when they had all the territories they now demand be given them for their state - attempted to drive the Jewish State into the sea. The same twisted faces, the same hate, the same cry of "idbah-al-yahud" - "Slaughter the Jews!" that we hear and see today, were seen and heard then. The same people, the same dream - destroy Israel. What they failed to do yesterday, they dream of today - but we should not 'repress' them. Dear World, you stood by the Holocaust and you stood by in 1948 as seven states launched a war that the Arab League proudly compared to the Mongol massacres. You stood by in 1967 as Nasser, wildly cheered by wild mobs in every Arab capital in the world, vowed to drive the Jews into the sea. And you would stand by tomorrow if Israel were facing extinction. And since we know that the Arabs-Palestinians daily dream of that extinction, we will do everything possible to remain alive in our own land. If that bothers you, dear world, well - think of how many times in the past you bothered us. In any event, dear world, if you are bothered by us, here is one Jew in Israel who could not care less. Back To Israel Today & Always" === It is past time for Israel to take the measures necessary to halt terrorism in their own country. The price of doing any less may be the death of the nation of Israel. Survival as a nation is the only option for the Jews and to hell with what the rest of the world thinks. Remember the Jordanian response to Palestinian terrorism? They made no apologies to the world for their war on the nasty, murderous Palestinian cockroaches. They had it right and it is time for Israel to emulate them.

And this:
Copied and saved the "Dear World" letter by Rabbi Meir Kahane for future reference. It's very succint and poignant.
Giving a damn, about anyone liking you, can be a fatal character flaw....
1) Israel built settlements in the mist of savages and expected these nut cases to accept it. Every single American President, UN, and all the European leaders think it is illegal, and MUST be dismantled.
2)For decades, the Israelis disregarded the views of the entire world, and continued to build more settlements, thus rubbing more salt into these nut cases wounds. Does that make sense? Do you think any Israeli government should be allowed to be above the laws?
3) Is disregarding UN & US & European leaders wishes and orders, not to mention simple common sense is helping Israel public relation or reputation.
4)The terrorists have absolutely no ground to justify their killer approach to their grievance. However, as a start, the militant Israelis and their foaming at the mouth American supporters must realize that force is causing more hate in the Palestinians youth, and encouraging Islamists to take advantage of the situation. The entire region is about to be engulfed in HOLY WAR?
5)Sharon is the wrong leader for Israel at this point. He must allow Perez to take control and start peace talk with the raghead,(since Israel and the US are too chicken to kill Arafat). Remember most of the deadly violence of late did not exist before Sharon took office?
Again, I dont want to keep apologizing or explaining my support for Israel in fear of the hate response that I typically get by pointing out the obvious to the blinds. If you create a new generation of kids who hate you, you will have decades of hate before the new generation can trust you!
UN resolutions are not laws.
In fact, any "law" passed by the UN is an illegal law and should not be obeyed.
It looks like Rabbi Kahane is suddenly becoming alright to speak of around dinner tables
Am I to assume from your repeated postings praising Kahane that you are indeed a supporter of his and his terrorist organization? Then I suppose a primer for other readers is in order. The ADL condemns this terrorist/extremist movement, as does our own State Department. Yet you openly support a terrorist group on this website? Amazing.
Rabbi Meir Kahane founded the JDL in 1968. A 1995 Anti-Defamation League report on the Kahane movement concluded it was "a cult of violence and racism" that had "violated both the substance and spirit of Jewish tradition." According to a recent New York Times profile of the American Kahane movement, the Kahane political organizations, Kach and Kahane Chai, were outlawed in Israel in 1994 as terrorist groups because of their Arab-hating doctrines. The next year, they were designated foreign terrorist organizations by the U.S. government, which made it a crime to support them with money or other means. The crackdown followed a series of violent attacks on Palestinians and other Arabs, including Kahane-adherent Baruch Goldstein's massacre of 29 Muslim worshippers in Hebron. So, are you with us or are you with the terrorists?
The Jewish Journal editorial echoed the ADL report. It further noted that the ability of Kahane groups to continue to function and raise money from American Jews "is not merely physically dangerous, but is offensive to the ethics and the soul of Judaism as practiced from Orthodoxy to Reform It is time for our religious leaders to repudiate this hatred and racism in the guise of Judaism. We must stop winking at our own terrorist movement. It is also time that the American Jewish community lets our government know that we expect them to seriously monitor organizations on its own terrorist list, including Jewish organizations."
These settlements are on Israeli land, paid for in full by Israeli blood, around cities that belonged to Jews before there were Muslims. If anybody is illegally occupying territory they shouldn't be on, it's the conglomeration of Muslims from all over Arabia who have not one ounce of claim to that territory. The Arabs went to war and they lost. Israel IS the territories.
What laws?
The JDL is not a terror organization. Anyone who really believes that is an Arab or Arabist, a terrorist or a terrorist supporter. The label was placed there by Arabists who again was placed in their role by Clinton.
And you are a terrorist supporter, so I guess only the jihad crowd is with you ;). Follow your leader, Zviadist.
Uh, no, I don't "remember" any such thing, because it isn't true. Sharon, in fact, was elected as a reaction to palestinian terrorism that predates his administration.
There's more, much more, to disagree with in your post, but I should get back to work.
And you are a terrorist supporter,
Buzzzz...WRONG. Sorry buddy, I don't support ANYONE over there.
It is your buddy above who has expressed support for an organization that MY country (the United States) has recognized as terrorist, and who a respected Jewish rights group -- the ADL -- also views as terrorist and anathema to real Judaism. I am merely responding to a poster who has said that he supports a terror group. That should concern all of us on this site.
That isn't their first battle. Surviving is. People can WALK across Israel proper in two hours. A DMZ is wider than Israel. For Israel to be safe, IT needs a buffer area, regardless of everything else. Israel's primary offense is in existing. Now, as to the "disregarding wishes" why not apply the same to the Arabs?
4)The terrorists have absolutely no ground to justify their killer approach to their grievance. However, as a start, the militant Israelis and their foaming at the mouth American supporters must realize that force is causing more hate in the Palestinians youth, and encouraging Islamists to take advantage of the situation. The entire region is about to be engulfed in HOLY WAR?
More, hardly. You are aware that the attacks on Israel have been going on for quite some time, and only got WORSE when Israel acquiesced and offered them nearly all of their demands? Why did the the French have a murderous revolution when the century before had been the largest growth in general wealth and freedom in the nation's history? It's the taste of victory by virulent hatred - not the violence - that causes the anger. Your argument is like blaming knowing the police will arrest you for shooting at the neighbor's kids.
5)Sharon is the wrong leader for Israel at this point. He must allow Perez to take control and start peace talk with the raghead,(since Israel and the US are too chicken to kill Arafat). Remember most of the deadly violence of late did not exist before Sharon took office?
Think again. The latest round of violence began when the Palestinians were offered nearly all of what they asked - and Arafat rejected it.
With the exception of the terrorist portion, the ADL could be considered an anethema as well.
ADL and the JDL both have their share of whackos.
With the exception of the terrorist portion, the ADL could be considered an anethema as well.
ADL and the JDL both have their share of whackos (not mean to equate the two, but using the ADL as a buttress is inappropriate. The ADL considers pretty much anyone non-liberal who disagrees with them a dangerous anti-semite).
