I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

Does your massive immigration to the US apply only to Mexicans or should we go get all the people out of India, Red China, African nations, Haiti and any other poor country so they can have all the same benefits as the Mexicans? It's probably only fair to demand the US arrange charter flights to those countries to bring them all here.

There have been studies showing that 85% of people from India, 90% from Mexico, probabaly 100% from China would like to come to the US. Throw in most the Haitians and probably many Africans, Cambodians.....that's an awful lot of people ---where do you intend to put them all?

Yes but what does that have to do with closing the border to immigration? My god, here we are in Afghanastan, helping build a new nation there and they hate us. Here we are looking to seal off Mexico and they don't hate us.

Huh? It has everything to do with closing the boarders to immigration.

Just because they come across the border from Mexico or Canada, doesn’t mean that they are Hispanic, or American-Indian, or White, or whatever. It means that the borders are too porous, and we need to make sure that the enemies of the Nation do not come across those borders.

Oh.... and don't ever think that we are nation building in Afgahnistan. We aren't. We are re-arranging the landscape and letting someone else rebuild. It's harsh; but how much nation building have we done? None. That has been the UN. But then that's another thread and a whole other topic.

Yes, in theory, access to the machinery of American life and wealth generation should be open to everyone.

Unfortunately over the course of the last centruy, we started massive wealth transfer programs which do not scale when burdened by exessive immigration or even internal population growth from the non-producers.

If you get rid of the wealth transfer, then the American system of freedom and limited government with inherent property rights scales up for as many people as you want to cram in. But right now we are precariously perched on a system where a small number of producers are shouldering the load for an ever-increasing supply of comsumers who are leaching via the healthcare and educational systems.

Around here it seems this has already happened. In the past 2 years Mexicans have almost invaded us. I don't have figures to validate my opinion, but I am sure most people in southern Indiana and northwest Kentucky would agree with me. What gets my goat is how much better these people are treated. Our own natural born citizens have never been given the opportunities or freebies these people experience. I have a brother that lives on his disability check each month. He is in very poor health. He is almost deaf. He can't afford a hearing aid. He has only 6 teeth. He needs a life saving surgery, but cannot afford it, because he only has Medicare and cannot get a supplement insurance, because of his pre-existing condition. He is a veteran of the Korean War. He could probably get the VA hospital to perform his life saving surgery, if he could live long enough.

If we would just treat these immigrants, with the same benefits our own citizens have, the number of immigrants crossing over would definitely decrease. The bleeding heart Liberals will make sure they get royal treatment. They will also make sure they get their vote.
