I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

Next vacation you take in Mexico, skip the resort areas. Spend some time in the rest of the country. Have a look around. I'm sure they have room for you.

That is correct, you don't get it. Folks, witness here how ignorant liberals win. They where you down like your small child in the store who is demanding a piece of candy. After a point, you have more important things to worry about and you turn your attention away. I'm done here. I just realized the clocks are jumping ahead an hour and must turn in. The rest of you can continue Paul's "Peak-a-boo" game for him.

They didn't close the borders during WWII. Ummmm.... Yes they did. They even had anti-aircraft guns on just about every college campus at the time. Do you see that now? No, it wouldn't make a difference now; not with the type of war we are fighting.

Mud hut equivilant? There aren't that many mud huts but you do see a lot of 2 by 4s with cardboard and corrugated tin. And that's what is being built in the US too by people who won't follow US building codes. Also open sewers and outhouses.

So no Mexican comes to America legally? They are all being lumped together. They are not even given the chance to get here to apply for citizenship.Quite sadly, the majority of Mexicans who come to the United States come here illegally. Sure Mexicans are given the chance to come here legally and many take advantage of that opportunity. Anybody can apply to emigrate to the United States. As far as applying for citizenship, well you are looking at several years down the road for that opportunity.

Yes yes of course. You're a genius. Tramp through thousands of miles of tundra, swim the Bering Strait, hop on the Alaskan range, down the glacial coast right into the lap of luxury. Good thinking.

Exactly. Did our ancestors have to wait years? Nope. Right in.

Yes but what does that have to do with closing the border to immigration? My god, here we are in Afghanastan, helping build a new nation there and they hate us. Here we are looking to seal off Mexico and they don't hate us.

if they only knew how to take advantage of it. Yes ---that's the sad thing. In spite of seeing how well Texas came out after the Anglos came and built it up, there are Mexicans (many in their Congress) who prefer to send Mexicans out rather than let Americans come in. They're so worried that more states will break off from Mexico and join the US ---which of course would be the best thing for the people in those states. There has been some talk of a couple northern states doing just that and even though the Mexican government doesn't want it's people, it wants all that land.

In the years they have to wait, they could perfect their English, take a couple American history and government classes so they'd be good citizens here when they finally make it.

Exactly. Did our ancestors have to wait years? Nope. Right in.My ancestors waited as long as they were told to wait. Maybe the waiting period was shorter back then but so what. They still came to the United States legally.

And they would have gladly waited years? You can't say what they would have done when faced with the same situation
