Whew!
Glad we solved that problem! /sarcasm

How much of a raise did they get, do you know?

I don't know, but wouldn't be surprised if they got raises ... overall, a sad response from the Bush administration if you ask me.

No one was fired. No one EVER IS. It's really high time for Congress to repeal all of our civil service laws, and give the Executive the power to purge all of the chaff out of their departments. It's quite obvious that we're hastening our own destruction with such blatant bureacracy and incompetence as our Federal government shows these days.
(Notice that none of the lynx biologists, nor the spotted owl researchers were fired for THEIR lies and deception either?)

Attorney General John D. Ashcroft also asked Congress on Friday to give him back authority to fire INS employees for violating Justice Department rules. That power was not included in the current budget proposal. Gee Bill did you overlook this blurb? Oh that right I forgot that get's in the way of your rants, never mind.

"Re-assigned" in governmentspeak means promoted.

Gee Bill did you overlook this blurb? Don't go so hard on him - Most Americans look to the Executive as being the most powerful Federal branch of government. After all, none of us are taught any better by our corrupt, failed "skule" system.
If we can't get the Congress to shape the government up, we're doomed. (I must have a BIG raincloud over my head right now or something. Or maybe I'm just depressed just THINKING about how corrupt and inept our Congress has become. I don't see any end in sight to the COMMUNIST policies we've had in our Federal government, and it's certainly been going on longer than I've been around.... *sigh*)

Here's the government rewarding incompetence again. The guys that screwed this up should be tasked with fixing it, and they should be fired if they can't. But no, the powers-that-be would rather reassign them somewhere where nothing is expected of them. And, by regulation, they can only be demoted in job billet, not paygrade.
Keep the same pay and accept less responsibility. Life is good.

INS Visa Idiocy Angers Bush"The president wants to know how and why it happened, and he wants it fixed,"This is how Bush wanted it "fixed" I guess. This would be my idea of "Reassigned." Although, truthfully, I would do away with that too!

Anyone have the following numbers? We could probably cause a mild ruckus if we were to band together and make some noise...
* Department of Justice, Attorney General's office * Immigration and Naturalization Service, Office of the Director * Anyone and everyone on the House Immigration Committee, and the corresponding Senate committee?
We could start a fax/email/phone campaign and drum up some sympathy on the Hill, perhaps... I won't blame the Entrenched Bureacracy for something that's CLEARLY Congress' fault....

Naw, I didn't miss it Dane. Why would I believe him. He's a guy that still wants Arthur Andersen to do the FBI review. LOL! But I'm sure he'll be pressed to change his mind.

What else would I expect from someone who lives in his own little cyberworld and ignores the facts.

Well, of course they did not get fired, and not only that, the person/persons responsible, i.e. upper level management, probably got a bonus.
Boy, it sure pays to work for the government, no accountability just promotions or shelped off to screw up another department.
ONLY IN AMERICA!!!
