The problem has many layers, and the solution will not come all at once. If you can get rid of the people most likely to be used by Democrats for vote fraud under color of "Homeland Security," you get a Republican Congress. And then you can get REAL reform.

As for our own welfare cases, the ones that remain are all people you would not let into your office at night to vacuum. At some point, even illegal immigrants are a net positive. But we won't even have a rational debate on where to draw that line until we get the towleheads and desperados outta here.

At the hospital I used to work at, we had welfare to work individuals on site. Some of them were rather useless, but a good number of them could do the types of jobs you mentioned and were eventually hired to do so. These would have been the types of jobs you were talking about. In these cases welfare rolls were reduced. I still maintain that many more could be.

This is so easy to fix with a nation wide birth certificate data base. A birth certificate should be filed with the federal government, it should be part of the requirement to get a drivers license by the state, an SS card by the government. If someone is stopped for a traffic ticket and cannot produce evidence of US birth, he should be arrested and detained until the INS can pick him up and put him on a plane outta here. If the INS drags it's feet it should pay a fine to reimburse the cities jail and face legal penalties of jail time for the INS offical that is in charge of that area.

I could only speculate.

The census bureau indicates that there are between 8 and 11 million illegals in the country, so to be conservative, lets say 10% have had contact with INS and have been ordered deported. That's 800,000 to 1,100,000 criminal aliens inside the US. I personally can believe it.

I just updated the numbers on my profile page, and in the last four days, a minimum of 9,000 illegal aliens have entered the US undetected.

Since January 1st, 2002, an average of 4500+ illegals have entered the US undetected each and every day.

You have to get them passed the "Immigration Judges" and that ain't necessarily so easy. Some of them make the 9th Circuit look like a bunch of Barry Goldwaters.We need a complete overhaul and a "new policy" -yesterday.

But the fact is, we can't send them all home.

We should deprort them incrementally. The first of course should be those working for the Mexican drug cartels (which is many). The second ones to go should be any found living in housing projects or doubled and tripled up in HUD housing, those who are living in areas of very high unemployment need to go home. There's counties in Texas with well over 20% unemployment and many of those unemployed are Hispanic youths. Then the ones who refuse to learn the language of this country. Maybe we'll never get around to deporting the apple pickers but at least most our problems would be solved.
