We're not as informed as Bush is. Everything about this stinks to high heaven in my book, but I'm still waiting for the President to articulate his reasonings. Maybe some of them can't be circulated for political reasons. I will say this, however: Bush knows that Latinos tend to vote democrat; he knows that that demographic here is disproportionately unproductive and that too many of them form their own Spanish-speaking enclaves rather than assimilate into mainstream America; he has the stats about the disproportionate costs Latinos burden America with.
I can only hope he knows something we don't, and that he'll get the word out to his conservative supporters before too many are alienated and confused enough to not even bother to vote or else vote for impotent candidates.

I can only hope he knows something we don'tI hope you're right. Right now this is looking like a certain type of racism that says based on your skin color or ethnicity, you can break the laws others are expected to obey. I don't think this amnesty is meant for Canadians, Ugandans, Englishmen, Chinese or anyone who isn't from Mexico. That's about as racist as it can be.

According to a report that I heard, from Mary Madilyn, I think. There are so many here, we don't even know who, where, or how to find them. They have been here for years, and have families here. INS is in such a mess, there is no way to locate them. Let them stay, overhaul INS & immigration laws. I just hope they all will adopt Americanism like our ancestors did.

We're not as informed as Bush is.Who's "we"?
A lot of us are pretty sharp. And some of us aren't so ignorant as to let our so-called "leaders" do what they want just because they (and/or their supporters) claim to be "more informed" than the rest of the unwashed masses.
