Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

"The GOP has done no such thing, nor is it favor of illegals "mixing freely" on the streets of America. " -- sinkspur

Really? Are you on the GOP_insider's_list? Let's see, now .... sice Bush has been in office, 1) you support the Patriot Act (a method to deny American's their Consitutional Rights), 2) Bush's decision to grant permanent MFN status to China (a method that could have been used to ensure normal relations, while decreasing import revenues and duty taxes), 3) this ammnesty bill (a method to dilute our American soveignty while piling up significant tax burdens upon an oalready over taxed America).

Next, I probably will see you jump into bed with McCain as Bush signs this "campaign finance reform bill" ( a method to deny Americans their Constitutional Rights.)

this bill applies only to those who came here legally

If they came here legally, then they are here legally and would not need amnesty to make them legal. This bill is to reward those who chose to come legally, it sounds like it's meant to reward those who have had anchor babies and now want to cash in on some other benefits that legality would give them.

I find it sickening that some demand that the President take their position on every issue or they threaten to go to a third party. BTW I don't think an orthodox conservative can be elected in this country and it is counterproductive to scream every time the President does something you personally don't agree with. And I for one think Hispanics add to our country,,they are good people, good values, love their families and work like dogs for the most part. Like Asians and before them Irish and English and Italians. I think their has to be some compromise in political life and until some repubs realize that they will remain a minority party. Suck it up and support the best President we have had in a long time. Or take your baseballs and bats and go throw your lot in with a fringe that cannot and never will run this country.

How many exactly is he going to give amnesty to?

As has been stated repeatedly and is in the black and white text of the bill, THIS IS NOT AN AMNESTY bill. just as the shadow government was NOT A SHADOW GOVERNMENT!. Now, the best estimate of those that fall under the extension rules is approx. 200,000. Read the darn bill!

It's not an "amnesty bill," Buck.

You haven't read it. That's obvious.

But, you're a pretty good gauge, Buck.

If you're on the other side, I know I'm on the right side.

Did you consider the idea that this bill applies only to those who came here legally, but their documention to remain was held up by an inefficient INS?

I am truly laughing out loud, ha ha he h ehe.

Actually, you are wrong. It is meant to give a break to those who stayed past their VISAs, due to inefficiencies in the INS.

They came here expecting to remain for more than one VISA, but the INS apparantly did not process their paperwork.

Dick Armey laid it out pretty clear that he'd never have supported this legislation if it were meant to support anyone who entered the country illegally.

If you want to believe the media spin, then be my guest. Do what you choose, but I believe Dick Armey.

Regarding Ron Paul: I think as a Libertarian, he would believe in 100% open borders.

I know the Libertarians can't win and I don't agree with their open borders any more than I agree with Bush-Fox's open borders, but at least the libertarians wouldn't be attracting them with all the government handout programs the Bush-Fox team will.

Well stated. The professional malcontents could just as easily be working for D.U., the Greens, or the Anarcho-Communist League, and frankly I wish they would move along and do so. But then these other organizations are not as populated with potential victims as F.R. is.

You were laughing so hard that you forgot to actually come back with some real debate, didn't you?

I took the time to make real discussion with you, and you've chosen to act like a democrat.

Now that is Orwellian Double Speak! Good job! You are now eligible for GOP prizes such as riding upon ignorant elephants in a three ring circus! Congratulations! You can pick up your free tickets at the Office of Immigration. Just show that you have a family member to sponsor and of course, make that check out to "US GOVERNEMNT" for $1,000US (not pesos).

Willie, you'd vote for Buchanan if he was Ralph Nader's running mate.

Nader's a whacknut enviro-kook, but at least he's honest and straightforward about where he stands, even if he is out in left field.
