Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)
Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001
Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.
Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

All this bill does is grant permanent residency status and eventual citizenship. Enough said.
Not really, are you agreeing or disagreeing with me?

It adds "legal" residency, permitting and granting all the benefits that you pay for while they can suck 'em up faster than you can pay for the same benefits.
Throughout the nation, this federal legislation *WILL* increase your tax burden. And, apparently you welcome this for criminal behavior. I will wager you pat your congress-critter's arse for increasing taxes not only on the federal level but also upon the state, county and local levels. You must enjoy that old "trickle-down" theory by Dr. Laffer.

And you would be against it.
Bet the rent.

I love it when you mentally masturbate in public. It reflects your stealth and character. It allows all to see you naked.

Get off our duffs and clean the RINOs out of our party and work on getting conservative Republicans elected.

Cute, but not hardly. The issue is not President Bush, this issue is millions of illegal aliens that are going to be given a pass. Hello!

182 Democrats supported this 'immigration' bill last night. Can you remember the LAST TIME that a substantial number of Freepers sided with a near-majority of House DEMOCRATS on a particular issue? This may be a FR first!

Jim, I love your forum. I hate to see it turn into something that helps Al Gore win in 2004. But the true believers have spoken. Some have even decided to punish all Republicans and not vote at all this year and in '04. I can't tell you how much this sickens me. I'm sure the DU lurkers have already posted this crap on their board and are enjoying their "aid and comfort."

I just heard Dick Armey say on FoxNews something to the effect of "This bill would not allow those who came into the county illegally to remain. It is a plan to allow more time to re-apply to those who came here legally, but have run into roadblocks due to the ineffieciency of the INS."
The bottom line is that they came here legally, and ther applications for remaining have not been processed. There is no text that makes room for anyone who came here illegally to remain.
Take a look at the whole picture. America is great, and I'd love to see good people who want to work have the opportunity to be successful here in America.

Well-- what have you read? I've read the panicky posts and a few articles, but I cannot get through that 245i mumbo-jumbo that reset the sunset.
When I called my rep in DC, they told me this wasn't about amnesty, and then asked me what I thought about the poor folks who aren't getting their paperwork processed in time. I said-- fund INS so they can do their job. They said-- it's throwing good money after bad.
If it's that bad, then it's time to shut down the process that's creating the problem, and stop tampering with the sunsets, and say enough's enough. Kill it or let it die. This is not a fix, it's another band-aid for NAFTA.

Change your name to class clown. Your photographs are not a very good diversion.

Read posts# 319 and #320. The White House or the Congress should have explained what this bill entails long before now. I didn't expect the media to explain it. ;o)
With all due respect, I am still suspicious about ANY legislation supported by 182 DEMOCRATS! I haven't seen that perspective raised anywhere on these amnesty threads the past few nights. Since when do Democrats vote for anything that would benefit conservatives? I'm going to see how this one plays out...
To: Joe Hadenuf
The issue is not President Bush, this issue is millions of illegal aliens that are going to be given a pass. Hello! When you can point out the "millions" in the bill that you obviously have not read then you may have a shred of credibility.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Proof of Bush's betrayal of the Libert-Aryan Brotherhood!!
To: Joe Hadenuf
The issue is not President Bush, this issue is millions of illegal aliens that are going to be given a pass. Hello! Did you consider the idea that this bill applies only to those who came here legally, but their documention to remain was held up by an inefficient INS?
If you are aginst having any Mexicans here at all, state it that way. I have not read all of your posts, so I have no idea. Also, I am not implting anything. I want to see exactly where you are coming from.
If you are okay with it, what then is the problem with cutting slack for some who were ignored by the INS?
The bottom line to me is that they did arrive in the US legally.

How many exactly is he going to give amnesty to?
