OVER 100 ORGANIZATIONS ASKED TO DROP SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

OVER 100 ORGANIZATIONS ASKED TO DROP SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

The Catholic League is asking over 100 organizations to drop their support for the American Red Cross. Specifically, we are requesting the leaders of allied organizations to alert their members to the decision by the Red Cross Orange County Chapter in Santa Ana, California, to stop students from Orange County High School of the Arts from singing “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful” at a Red Cross luncheon yesterday.

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross supports the censorship. In a news release on this subject, it exclaims “our sensitivity to religious diversity” noting its “preference for a music program that would be inclusive and not offend different populations participating in this particular event.”

Catholic League president William Donohue commented as follows:

“If this were just a chapter of the Red Cross acting this way, we would be disturbed but would not call for drastic action. But since the headquarters of the American Red Cross is supporting the ban on ‘God Bless America’ and ‘America the Beautiful,’ we are left with little alternative. Sadly, it has become all too common for the high priests of ‘religious diversity’ and ‘inclusiveness’ to resort to gag rules.

“The American Red Cross has every right to adopt the platform of political correctness by censoring the free speech of young men and women who want to honor God and country. And we have every right to ask our friends to send the Red Cross an unmistakable message by refusing to donate one more dime to the organization. Our request is being sent to our allies in virtually every faith community. The time to put an end to this anti-religious madness is now.”

If this boycott succeeds, it will be in spite of Bill Donohue, who has turned the Catholic League into an imitation of the NAACP. And while that sort of thing may play well with blacks, Catholics tend to ignore him.

I think I'll go to the "dollar store" and buy a load of play money, that looks a little more real.

Here is the address for donations by mail. Wear it out folks. Email can quickly be deleted, and the phone can be hung up on us, but these envelopes will have to be opened one at a time and processed. Make sure to use an opaque envelope so they can't just hold it up to the light and see the Monopoly money inside. This will be very time-consuming, especially when there will be thousands of them. Heheh.

Is the boycott over? So slow. I didn't find anything. I left a message with BP news. They probably won't answer though because I think I sent it under cindydawg instead of my regular e-mail (lol)

I’d be curious to know what songs were allowed. It might be interesting to read over the lyrics to see just what the Red Cross likes. But in the end, anyone living in the good old USA who doesn’t like “God Bless America”, can simply go to hell.

I sent an email and got one of those form replies about how they'd get back to me at a later date. Seems they have been inundated with angry mail, and rightly so. I am so angry about this!

Agreed. The Christian intolerance and Christian hate groups in America must be exposed for what they are.
This is great news.

Time to hit them with envelopes now; they can't just let them pile up. The greedy SOBs will open them ALL in hopes of finding donations inside. I'd love to be there when they open the first Monopoly money letter, LOL. We are smarter than they are; that is why WE will win.

I sent them a strong message just today, I told them to remove me from their list of contributors, that I was sure they already knew the many reasons why, and I did not care to discuss it.

How about any of you older vets out there, do you have any input as to why

Try this one. My 8 month pregnant wife, my 2 year son and I were in the military and sent to Maryland (from California) for temporary duty and my pay records were "lost". I went to the RC and was offered 20 dollars with the stipulation it HAD TO be repaid within 30 days regardless of circumstances. After I stormed out of that meeting, I found out about the Army Emergency Relief Fund and got 200 dollars and only had to sign an allotment form taht kicked in AFTER my records were brought up to date. (November 1965) I've got a long memory.

Hmmmmm.....my money has ""In God We Trust", evidently money is no longer acceptable to the Red Cross either.

Excellent point

Thank you. Please post the list as soon as you hear from Dr Donohue. I would be happy to contact them asking for their support of the boycott. The Red Cross is never shy about asking my church to sponsor a local blood drive. They aren't in the least concerned about offending anyone.

BTW, when you contribute blood at your local hospital any future blood transfusions you or your immediate family may need are free of charge at that hospital.

From the ARC website: On Sunday, March 10, the CBS News show 60 Minutes ran a misleading and inaccurate story about the American Red Cross. Below is the real story of the Red Cross, as well as specific examples of inaccuracies in the 60 Minutes story.

These punks are under serious fire. LINK

I don't know why, but MANY vets of WW11 ( my father, a Marine, included) had nothing good to say about the Red Cross and would never give them a dime. How about any of you older vets out there, do you have any input as to why ? I never knew why, but many had bad experiences with the RC.

Hell it goes back further than that .My mother used to tell me my uncle and the other vets from WWI hated the RED CROSS. She said the group they liked the most was the SALVATION ARMY. I never forgot that

You can buy Monopoly money online without buying an entire Monopoly game. A full set is only $2.98. Click here to buy. (Unfortunately, shipping is $4.95. Maybe we should pool.)
