Good evening friends. I wanted to let you all know of the current situation with my niece.
I am told that the first 24-48-72 hours following a trauma are the most critical. We are in the 32nd hour ( half way )since the accident and Skye has maintained stability although she is being kept unconcious via medication. I am told that this is for her comfort and to also help her body "rest and begin to recover" from it's injuries. The shock from the accident and the two invasive exploratory and surgical procedures would be more than she could withstand so sedation is best according to those updating me.
There is no significant change in her condition that I am aware of at this moment. I take that as a wonderful sign as it indicates that she is maintaining stability re her vitals, etc.
I want to take a moment to express my family's deepest gratitude to you all for your prayers. Tonight as I was finally able to sit and read the replies, bumps and pings I was overcome with emotion to see the love and generosity offered to my family, these children and their families by those who do not know us personally.
Initially we were told that it would take a miracle for this child to survive. Those were the exact words. We were told that if we believed in prayer that we needed to be doing so.
I knew that I had seen many prayer requests posted here and that there were many of you who believed in such so I posted. I thank you for taking the time out of your lives to pray. I notice that there are many of different faiths ( I recognize the names from various threads that I have read ) posting there prayers for this one situation. It is wonderful to see, when we have a common goal and desire to see the hand of our Almighty Lord at work, all doctrinal differences laid aside. I firmly believe that because of a unity of the faith ( a shared belief in prayer )in this situation that my niece is still alive.
I would also like to take a moment to thank Mr. Robinson for offering and working so diligently on a forum in which not only can we discuss the issues affecting us as a country but that also supports us individually in times of personal crisis by allowing us to post such requests as mine and as others have posted. May you and your endeavors be blessed for your service to us all.
In regards to the other little girls, I have no word to offer on their condition. From what I gathered tonight at least one of them is in very critical condition having suffered major burn injuries to a large portion of her body. This was passed to me by a relative who spoke with one of the young rescue workers who attended the scene. She mentioned him saying that it was the worst accident scene he had ever arrived upon and that he was very emotional while relaying this to her. According to her he is quoted as saying "no child should have to suffer what she suffered". My prayers are for him as well to recover from the traumatic sights that he witnessed.
Again, thank you all so very very much for your prayers past and ongoing. I will do my best to find out and let you know of the other children's conditions.

Prayers from the west Coast for these young people and their families!
Having spent so much time in the Hospitals with loved ones - Mother and Wife - in the last 2 years, I understand how tiring and draining it is on those who are supporting and doing vigils for the injured!
Holy Spirit, please go to these families and these injured children to comfort them and assuage their pain.
Heavenly Father, in your wisdom, give us the most merciful answer to our prayers.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done
In Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever.
Amen.
PNM, Skye, you, and your entire family as well as the families of the others involved in the accident will continue to be remembered in prayer. May God Bless and comfort.
