Three former workers in a "get-out-the-vote" operation were charged today with completing and turning in fake voter registration cards prior to the March 2001 St. Louis mayoral primary.

Eliza Julion. 29, and Paul Lamont Julion, 26, both of St. Louis, and Michelle Robinson, 32, of Rock Hill, face charges of felony vote fraud, Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce announced. The Julions are believed to be sister and brother, authorities said.

Each offense carries a penalty of up to five years in jail...

Sure, but will that really keep these felons from voting?

I'm with you annie. The day that this fish-wrap endorsed Algore, and in the same editorial, accused the Republicans of using propaganda!, I wrote a letter to the editor and called to cancel my subscription (of more than 20 years). They did publish my letter, (after some heavy editing), and when I called, I told them that I never ever wanted that piece of trash delivered on my porch. Funny thing is that for 20 years, as a daily subscriber, I continued to get marketing calls from them for a subscription. Since that day, the St. Louis Fish Wrap has never called this house again!

Joyce began her probe after St. Louis Election Board workers early last year turned over 3,000 suspect voter registration cards that were submitted a month before the primary.

Can only wonder, how it is this took so long to investigate. Though do appreciate there 'getting there'. . .

. . .imagine if these voters had not been turned away after hours; how many of these 'votes' would have been cast. They offer, a kind of no harm done defense as they were not cast; it surely was not because they did not try. And of course, they will find more who succeeded.

Go Algore. . .thank God, he did.

sound like typical democrats!

I dunno, they tend more toward rodents than felines and canines in my experience.

"I honestly believe that W. won the popular vote. Not that it matters, though."

Of course it matters!

Thank God GW is President and not Al Goreverra; that said, we must never let them get away with stealing the reality of that election.

The woman from NYC who came here with a "Smokes for Votes" scheme for the homeless got small fine

Let me guess, the fine was for encouraging the use of cigarettes, not for election fraud.

I guess Berry and her Civil Rights Commission didn't have time to investigate voter irregularities in St. Louis?

Mea culpa! I should have explained what I meant.

What I mean is that it doesn't matter since W. is in the White House, NOT Algore. Let them believe their own lies all they want cause it doesn't make a bit of difference.

Unless I am mistaken, these are among the very first people EVER charged with voter fraud, despite hundreds if not thousands of allegations over the years.

Hey, thanks; how about that? Now, if they'd go through each city, and arrest 3, maybe we'd have an honest election. this vote fraud thing has been a sore spot for too many cycles.

Remember all of this when piaps runs for prez. Voting fraud is the only way she'll get elected. She's getting her start now by hosting fundraisers for dems nationwide, especially in specific areas needed to win national elections.

These same people handed in over 30,000 cards in the November 2000 election and Bob Holden won his election by only 21,000 votes. Now after still illegally keeping the polls open in St. Louis, you tell me who is the threat to democracy?
Only THREE caught!!! This must be a joke after what happened in St Louis in Nov 2000, right???

Pssst. Think color.

"Let them believe their own lies all they want cause it doesn't make a bit of difference."

. . .!!! rdb3; that is still my point; you are right, of course that it did not make a difference in the outcome. . .the eventuality in any event (though it caused more than a little damage. . .and pain and suffering. . .);

. . .but the Democrats want to perpetuate the lie of that election; they need their version to validate and empower them while discrediting GW and any Republicans they can.

September 11 has changed much of that of course; many of the same are now glad GW is President, but they will not acknowledge he won legitimately. Their lies must not stand as our history; for any number of good reasons; but most of all because we know their version is false and it does not deserve to stand as anything, except for the truth it represents. . .

We cannot ignore the truth or forget it; and we should be prepared to 'share' it, and defend it, whenever necessary.

Doesn't surprise me, though I've been wondering when this would finally come out. I had written a long letter to David Horowitz about the voting nightmare in Philly in 2000. Sad to say, even though CNN called about it, nothing came up.

I doubt I even voted the way I wanted to; outside the polling place on the STEPS we were given pamplets with instructions on how to vote democrat. The woman inside became hostile when we informed her of the violations. You get no ballots in Philly, you get a lever to pull. Horrible.

Even worse, you may be falsely charged of voter intimidation if you press the case!!!
