Under the banner front-page title "Media war by the EU against the Turkish Army!", KIBRISLI (1.3.02) reports that the Turkish Ministry of Justice has confiscated the "Idea Politika" magazine because it had written that Turkey is being prepared to create a crisis in Cyprus.
The paper argues that the article of the above-mentioned magazine has been published within the framework of the efforts exerted by the European Union to create "a Turkey where the power of money will rule and everything will be sold and bought like a merchandise". The EU, alleges KIBRISLI, "escalates the media war against the Turkish army which it considers as the biggest obstacle to this".
"According to the magazine", writes the paper, "the Turkish Armed Forces will create a crisis in Cyprus and will be absolutely isolated from the EU".
According to KIBRISLI the EU " is buying off journalists" within the framework of its psychological struggle and the campaign against the Turkish army.
The magazine wrote that Greece and the Greek Cypriots must not be considered as Turkey's enemies. It also argued that the reason for which Turkey wants to join the European Army is the fact that it sees from now that it could come to a conflict with the European Army because of the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU.
It is obvious that most of the people here are not familiar with what is/was happening in Cyprus , and I just assume that Arric here is somehow related to Turkey since he is so quick to show the Turkish side of the story in all the situations ( the genocide in Armenia,Cyprus, etc)
Let's start with the oldest story- Armenian genocide. Aric said that the Armenians killed 500,000 Turks, and the presumed genocide of a million Armenians was some of revenge. This will imply though that Armenians -under Ottoman occupation at that time- managed to get into Turkish motherland ( which motherland was conquest from the Eastern Roman Empire when the ottoman hordes invaded Constantinople coming from Asia ) and slaughter some innocent Turkish citizens. Is that the case ? For me it looks like a rebellion that got punished in Ottoman style. To assume that a occupied country committed genocide against the occupier, amounts to a claim that the French resistance "genocide" the German officers and soldiers in the WW2, and therefore wiping out a few million women and kids would do just 'Justice".
I'll continue with the rest if there is any chance that mpre than 3 ( Oxi , Aric, and myself) people are still watching this post, otherwise is a usless waiste of time to try to convince a Turk fan that Turkey was ever wrong, or convince oxi that Turkey has some justified claims in Cyprus.
Regards,
Is America under American occupation?
Tonight! Luxemberg vs. Turkey! I wonder what the line on that would be? ;-)
It would be too bad if the Turks were tied down with the Greeks, when there was a problem with Iraq.

Istanbul was Constantinople
Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in Constantinople
Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
So if you've a date in Constantinople
She'll be waiting in Istanbul
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way
So take me back to Constantinople
No, you can't go back to Constantinople
Been a long time gone, Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks
