When Jim Robinson started Free Republic in September, 1996 to expose the corruption in government and particularly the Clinton Whitehouse, he was alone. Now six years later, Free Republic has 80,000 registered members and who knows how many visit this site often, just to keep up on the latest conservative thinking.

Folks, you all know where this is going, Free Republic is a user supported website and it is time to support it. Four times a year we have this freepathon to donate a few dollars to pay for the bandwidth and expenses necessary to keep Free Republic online, and we do so with gratitude and cheer because of what is offered and accomplished by the existence of Free Republic.

Free Republic does not charge a membership fee or get supported by a government grant. No, people from across the World make donations large and small because they see the value of Free Republic. Re Philly.

One of our best friends grew up there and still has most of his family back there.

While serving in the Air Force he met his wife a No. Cali gal. They got married and she told him that she could never live in Philly (re the cold)!

His last 2 trips back to visit his family in Philly have really upset him. He said that about 99.999999999% of Philly is socialist/communist lefties! He told his family that he would pay for their way to come visit, but he was not going back there!

He's right .. it's really sad at what has happen to Philly .. a lot of the neighborhoods have gone down hill big time ..

The neighborhood I grew up in .. so far (knock on wood) is still nice... and people that have to stay in philly do to work jump at living there

Free Republic is like Radio Free Europe was during the cold war to the Goron Cities like Philly, NYC, DC, Baltimore, Boston, LA, San Francisco, Atlanta.

Free Republic provides the truth and a support group to the conservatives caught in these left wing hell holes. Then we can convert some of those left wingers to being conservatives!
