80,000 Freepers and Growing - Freepathon
3-1-02 | Topaz

Posted on 03/01/2002 4:59:36 AM PST by Topaz

When Jim Robinson started Free Republic in September, 1996 to expose the corruption in government and particularly the Clinton Whitehouse, he was alone. Now six years later, Free Republic has 80,000 registered members and who knows how many visit this site often, just to keep up on the latest conservative thinking.

Folks, you all know where this is going, Free Republic is a user supported website and it is time to support it. Four times a year we have this freepathon to donate a few dollars to pay for the bandwidth and expenses necessary to keep Free Republic online, and we do so with gratitude and cheer because of what is offered and accomplished by the existence of Free Republic.

Free Republic does not charge a membership fee or get supported by a government grant. No, people from across the World make donations large and small because they see the value of Free Republic. So if you're one that appreciates this site and want to see it continue, please send in a few dollars to help keep it alive.

Badjoe's computer is working so hard, it's a good thing Willa had those air bags installed.

It's nice to see you. I remember you from the first Freepathon, a couple years ago, right bigjoesaddle? You were a fairly new Freeper and you jumped right in and kept the threads bumped.

Freepers: These Freepathons are an excellent way to dip your toe in the water and get used to posting. So all you "newbies," please jump right in. Every time you post a comment on these Freepathon threads, you keep them scrolling to the top of the "Latest Posts" page--that's called a BUMP, or BTTT (bump to the top).

FREEP ON!

Just sent in my $100 vote for the shortest ever Freepathon. Start time was 6AM Pacific time this morning; it is now 8:21AM Pacific, and I'm sure we've hit 4% (even though the the bar graph still reads 3%). At this rate, Freepathon should be done Sunday at 4:30PM Pacific (58.5 hours vs. 104 hours for last Freepathon). Let's roll!

Your graphics are more true than you know. My modem went down this week and there was a conflict with the new one. Let's just say you would not want to be me during the two days it took me to figure it all out.
