Clinton to dedicate life to redistributing world's wealth

Former US president Bill Clinton today vowed to dedicate the rest of his life to helping redistribute the world's wealth.

At his fourth Australian speaking engagement, Mr Clinton said prosperous nations including Australia and the United States held the key to the world's future.

He said it would cost America $US2.5 billion ($A4.87 billion) to meet UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's request for an extra $US10 billion ($A19.47 billion) to fight AIDS and other infections diseases.

"For us, you know what that is?" he asked the $1,100-a-head charity dinner in Melbourne for the Microsurgery Foundation.

"Two-and-a-half months of the Afghan war, and about one tenth of one per cent of the federal budget.

"That's it.

"There are 40 million AIDS cases a day and if we don't do something about it, there will be 100 million AIDS cases a day."

Mr Clinton said Australians needed to identify with people of poorer nations.

"If we can, then our children will have the most peaceful and prosperous and the most interesting and fun time in all of human history," he said.

"I'm going to do what I can for the rest of my life to make that happen, and I hope you will too.

The 42nd president of the United States said Australians should not be afraid of change, or of people who were different.

Such fears had resulted in the assassinations of Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Israeli President Yitzak Rabin and the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"We are struggling to find a balance in our two countries to not just tolerate people who are different, but actually venerate those differences, respect them, celebrate them, in the context of our common humanity," he said.

In a direct reference to the Howard government's woes, Mr Clinton also warned Australia needed to pull its weight in addressing global warming or the refugee crisis would get worse.

"If the world warms in the next 50 years as it has done in the last 10, ...agricultural production will be disrupted across the globe," he said.

"You'll have literally millions upon millions of food refugees, leading to more violence, more disruption and more boatloads of refugees that you will have to face."

He's playing to the third world and the General Assembly.

He's running for Secretary General, in a UN with a standing army and taxing authority.

clinton might be the smartness president we ever had ( right) but he sure doesn't know math. Let see Billy, you say that 100 million new cases of AIDS each day if we don't do something about it. In one new that will equate to 36, 500,000,000 AID cases. The whole world will have AIDS in one year according or is it because of Clinton? Jerk

"And I wonder why the hell people still listen to him."

Are you kidding?

I once asked someone in Cambridge, Mass. about why/how Rent control came to be there....since it was an insane policy leading to the eventual deterioriation and burning down of housing for the "poor" that rent control was supposed to provide. (Apartment owners who could not be paid enough under rent control to keep up their buildings would simply let them deteriorate until they became fire traps and eventually flame up and burn to the ground. This was happening over and over and over again in Cambridge.)

He told me: How did Rent Control come to be (even though it is insane)?

Because there are more "poor" than there are "rich".

And, in fact, the "poor" in the case of rent control ended up being doctors, lawyers, etc, who just happened to find ways to get some of the "cheap" apartments for themselves or their buddies - because they were "in" with the people running the rent control department!!! or they just knew how to use the system.

The same answer can be said for how come Behillary gets away with these outrageous "speeches" and he is actually listened to:

1. There are more "poor" in the world than there are "rich". All Americans are seen as rich to the impoverished of the world which encompasses the majority of the world's people. So, he has quite a willing audience.

2. The Mafia Boss will always take care of his "family" which means that the wealth is not really redistributed to the poor under the Communist Utopian "Vision". The wealth of those too poor or too tired or too worn out or even too frightened to fight the thug thieves will be deistributed TO ALL THE F.O.B.'S IN THE WORLD - just as was done with the Global Crossing riches!!!! Friends of Bill - Friends of the Thugs - Friends of "the Party" - The Party Elite Will be the ones getting the graft - and ALL THE THUGS OF THE WORLD ARE MORE IN THE WILLING AUDIENCE!

If Clinton's time in power proved one thing, it proved that there are more amoral, self-serving, greedy, thug Mafia types in "regular" U.S. Government positions and State government and even County Government positionsand in Academia and among the trial lawyers' "union of thieves" than anybody ever knew.

But King Billy knew.

"A sucker - and thieves to take their money- are born every day!"

If Bill Klinton rises to a power position in the UN, then I would certainly call him the anti-christ. Until then, I am still betting on Hilary.

Last month, U.N. investigators reported that UNHCR staff members had illegally collected millions from refugees who thought the payments would buy them a way to leave Africa. [Source: Boston Globe, 2/28/2002]

This week, a report commissioned by U.N. and the charity group Save The Children describes "a widespread and 'possibly endemic' culture of exploitation", according to Save The Children manager Paul Nolan. The investigators were following-up allegations that aid workers in West Africa have been involved in the widespread sexual abuse of refugee children. [Source: Associated Press, 2/27/2002]

Bill Clinton fits right in with this bunch of scumbags.

What am I missing?

You're missing Clinton's willingness to use bogus, scary-sounding figures to further his causes.

I'm still boggled by the way he spent several months stumping for gun control with the phrase, "the United States has a higher child gun death rate than the next 24 biggest countries combined."

Sounds bad, eh? Sounds like he's saying that even if you put the next 24 countries together, there still wouldn't be as many shot children as in the US alone, right?

Wrong.

The sleight-of-hand here is that "rates" don't get bigger when you "combine" them, they AVERAGE. What Clinton is *really* saying here is that the US rate for children killed with guns is higher than the average of the top 25 industrial nations -- not very scary after all. But he says it in a way that carefully makes it *sound* like "more kids get shot here than everwhere else put together". Or, some listeners may interpret it as "the US rate is the highest rate of any of the top 25 countries". Neither is true. What cynical propaganda.

To illustrate the problem, I could truthfully say that "my house has a higher rate of cat ownership than the other 90 million American households combined". What I'm really saying is that I have more cats than average. But it sure *sounds* like I own more than half the nation's cats, doesn't it?

Interestingly, his gun control nonsense uses the same sort of "confuse the listener about the distinction between totals and rates" dishonesty that he's doing with the AIDS speech.

Is he going to start distributing his own wealth?

Yeah, right! (/sarcasm)
I thought about that too when I was reading it.
I'm sure he has inverse redistribution in mind for himself.

For those who wish to redistribute their own money to the rapist go to www.clintonpresidentalcenter.com and press donate. The site has telephone numbers and email addresses. Maybe we all should email the rapist and let him know how he is viewed by Americans, to hell with the rest of the world.

Jaw is set - eyes slightly squinted - Bill is trying to look up the short dress of the PM's wife as he elouberates on the spread of the HIV. Hope no one mentions the prison blood I sold to the Canadians. Uuummmm he thinks to himself as he feels a stirring in his slacks - I wonder if she has ever been bitten on the lips.

I look forward to his funeral.

In all seriousness, sometime after that occurs I intend to make a pilgrimage to his gravesite and relieve myself on it. I hope the line won't be too long, but it'd be worth the wait.

(And I even voted for the weasel in '92, please try to find it in your hearts to forgive me.)
