Fat Woman Suing San Francisco Health Club Because They Won't Hire Her To Teach Jazzercise

The title says it all. There's a big to-do they're discussing on the Pete Wilson show right now about how this fat hippo woman is filing a lawsuit because this health club won't hire her to teach a jazzercise class. Apparently, she's fat as can be, but she says she can "do all the moves," and is filing suit because she says the health club is discriminating against her because she doesn't square with the health club's image.

Well, I guess she has to work somewhere since Richard Simmons stopped making Sweatin' to the Oldies.

Oh no. Now everyone is going to start posting their "favorite" fat chick pictures. Well, I wouldn't exactly call her my *favorite* fat chick, but surely this thread would not be complete without a few pics of Monicow. Brudder, even a million bucks was not enough incentive to keep her on a diet!

Well done.

Uh-huh....Well, if she can "do all the moves" maybe she should start and lose some weight. How much inspiration can be provided to those working towards a firmer body by someone who is FLABulous? I dunno....but Richard Simmons seems to make a pretty good living being a fat ass.

She should have applied as a drag queen in order to ensure being hired.

Last I checked it was perfectly legal to discriminate based on size, political inclination and any number of other categories that aren't protected by law. You forget this is in the People's Republic of San Fransisco, His Royal Marxist Willie Brown presiding. They've got restrictive laws in SF that the Soviets and Chicoms ain't even thought of.

Apparently, she's fat as can be, but she says she can "do all the moves," and is filing suit because she says the health club is discriminating against her because she doesn't square with the health club's image. The woman suing is named Jennifer Portnick. A more detailed account of her lawsuit can be found here. She maintains several websites, including one called Full Moon Fitness, and Fitness Fun Central, which carries a picture of her.
And it's cruel and inhumane to post "your favorite pictures of obese people". I'd never take a cheap shot like that..
I repeat, never.

In anyplace but San Francisco, she'd be laughed out of court. But the commies there will probably give her an award big enough to open her own health club.Yeah, and they'll pay for a sex change so she can be a sumo wrestler too

Yes, if I wanted to put on a Jazzercise TV program, to induce people to use the technique to become/remain fit, I'd sure want a fat lady as my spokesperson. Sure. I'm convinced that she would really draw in the audience.

Someone has it in his/her/its head that SF is so, so wonderful, outrageously draconian regulations couldn't drive business away from it. They learned nothing from Bank of America leaving its birthplace for Charlotte, North Carolina after the NationsBank takeover.

This case shouldn't even see the inside of a courtroom. Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications (BOQ) should destroy any chance she has.

Picture it: the jazzercise class exercising to the cadence of a kettle drum solo.....
