What is the biggest lie of "liberals" in this country ever? What idea, concept, "fact", law, or position is their biggest lie in your mind? What "liberal" lie or cliche really gets your blood boiling whenever you hear it or see it expressed?

Save Social Security "trust fund".

Many good choices. Here are a couple of more:
1992, Bill Clinton: "Worse economy in fifty years"
"Bush is soft on China"
1988 to present, Reagan years = "Decade of greed"

Here's a small excerpt from the article:
"Mr. Krugman? Your editor at The Times is on the line. Want to take it?"
"Sure, thanks, Peggy. Hello, Phil?" "Paul, hi. Just checking in about tomorrow's column. You have a topic?"
"Not sure yet. I thought probably I'd do something on how the Enron scandal proves, yet again, that George W. Bush and his Texas cronies and all their shady friends in the boardrooms of corporate America are out to line their pockets by screwing all the hardworking little guys out of their pensions and livelihoods."
"Sounds good, Paul. Any other possibilities?"
"Maybe something on the Bush budget. How this latest round of tax cuts for the rich, the very rich, the super-rich, and the ultra-rich proves, yet again, that Bush and his Texas cronies and all their shady friends in the boardrooms of corporate America are out to line their pockets by screwing all the hardworking little guys out of their hard-won wages."
"That's good, really good. Anything else? Surprise me."
"Phil, I'm thinking about weighing in on unfettered global capitalism. How it proves, yet again, that Bush and his Davos cronies and all their shady friends in the boardrooms of multinational corporations are out to line their pockets by screwing all the hardworking little guys out of a chance to get ahead."
"I like it. That all?"

Cutting your taxes will cause the guvmint to run out of money for social programs.

I think it is time to defeat the very notion of social "progress." What self styled "progressives" mean when they say "progress" is hedonism and anarchy. Progressives are anything but progressive- they are as old as civilization. Read the "Millionares Dinner Party" by an ancient Roman author to see what I mean.

"We can't afford a tax cut" is way up there. How do you "afford" something that isn't yours in the first place? Taxpayers cannot afford an increase is more like it.
"Soft money is corrupting the government" when we all know only dishonest politicians can corrupt the government.

That the primary difference between liberals and conservatives is any of the three things:
1.) leftist compassion for others
2.) leftist idealism and 'progressivism'
3.) leftist fairness

I guess I despise the lie that their party really cares about minorities. It is a despicable lie. They hate minorities. It is the only conclusion one can make after 4 decades of decimating minority families with their policies.

"Jerry Falwell is an extremist". Agree with him or not, he's just an evangelical pastor as mainstream as Billy Graham. Ah, but he's outspoken against abortion and homosexuality--just like the MAJORITY of the public. If everyone is an extremist aren't we defining extremism down?

That Clinton was a harmless adulterer and was a good President. This one really boils my blood because I think we'll still be dealing with his foul ups 50 years from now.

Good one. Intellectual conservatism had zero to do with Fascism- ever. And indeed railed against it. The so called "progressives" in this country regarded Mussolini and some even Hitler as progressive. Only when Stalin dictated to his slavish followers in the west and the fellow travelers did the left start to paint Fascists and Nazis as "right wing" even though they stood for things completely at odds with right wing thinking and conservative thought!

Poverty causes crime.
Recycling is alway good.
Separation of church and state is a basic America principle.
Unequal representation is proof of discrimination.
Government should create a level playing field.
America is a democracy.
Diversity is a good in itself.

Make no mistake- the press in this country will be doing cartwheels to cover for his corruption and incompetence 50 years into the future. His destructivenes as President- we haven't even glimpsed yet.

The biggest lie:
We want to help the black people.
To: Burkeman1
Your question is phrased wrong. You should have asked for the Top 100 DemocRAT lies.
Why do you think that they are called the "Evil Party"? It's because they have no, absolutely no compunction about lying. None.
I am a "political junkie" and I don't care which DemocRAT is speaking - on TV, radio, newspaper, etc., I can point out outrageous, blatant lies.
With the Republicans, it is more a matter of continually playing defense - or just plain ignorance.

There are so many liberal lies, I've lost count.
One of the biggest lies being told today by liberal democrats, is that the poor ecomony was caused by the policies of President Bush.
In my book, that's a whopper of a liberal lie.
