MSNBC showed footage of a press conference and Michelle had two medals on her neck the bronze and the one given to her by Peggy Fleming.
She looked liked she was about to lose it..

Man I'm glad I didn't see this, I would have had to turn off the TV

Sickening. THe media was rooting for Michelle Kwan to get the Gold, but she fell on her a-s instead.

I must say that Sarah Hughes absolutely deserved the Gold Medal she won last night. Her long program and Sasha Cohen's short program were the highlights of Olympic skating for me. As a fan of the sport, I was a little disappointed and sorry for Michelle not realizing her dream of a Gold. She's a phenomenal skater with a fantastic career. I still think she should have taken the Gold four years ago, but that judgement was not in my hands.
I think the plastic replica was just a sign of affection and respect, not a commentary stating she should have won the Gold. It's like when you lose something irreplacable and are very upset, and then your 5-year-old comes up and hands you a crude replica of whatever you lost made out of construction paper:)

I know what you mean. I was watching last night & it was sickening the way they kept hyping up the Kwahn girl. Give me a break. I guess I always root for the underdog. The way they were praising her & hyping her up I was hoping she didn't get any medal at all!

Hey Kwan, you LOST! Get over it.

I've never been a Michelle Kwan fan, NEVER! When Tara kicked her assgry in Japan 4 years ago, all the media did was talk about how the Gold was Michelle's for the taking ... I just loved it! So, here I was again, hoping for another USA teen to teach Kwan that nothing is your's for the taking dearie ... nothing! I kept my fingers crossed and just delighted in Sara's glory! I just couldn't stand the way the media, once again, acted as though the gold belonged to Kwan alone! I hate when the media does that, as they did with the Rams all season long this year! HA! When it comes down to it, it always goes to who wanted it and earned it the most! Move along now Kwan. anyway ... that's what 'I' think!

I have never been so inspired by an athelete as I was watching Sarah Hughes last night. She was simply supernatural and deserved the Gold without a doubt.

How cheesey.
Nothing to see here folks, move along in an orderly fashion.

The title says Dorothy Hamill but the little article says Peggy Fleming?????
Is it my imagination or are the Olympics a total mess this year?

Just to show that I am at LEAST as compasionate, if not more compasionate than Dorthy I am willing to give my actual, not a REPLICA mind you, my actual 1971 Boy Scout Pinewood Derby trophy to Michelle.
Note to the press: Please feel to take interview questions and answers from this FR forum. Thank you...

I just think it is a sign of respect for one of the best of all time.
Six world championsips is the record and Michlle might get it next month.
She did not deserve the gold last night that is for sure...

PS: I thought the NBC commentary throughout the night was dreadful. The focus on Michelle Kwan's "loss" was in poor taste and today I see twice as many news photos of Kwan's falls as of Hughes brilliant performance.
Does anybody know if NBC is going to re-broadcast the event at any point? I'd dearly love to record the whole thing.

If this was some skater that didn't deserve such respect, I would agree...but I think it is a nice gesture

The rebroadcast last night ended at 5AM EST I think.

Did you see this on the late West Coast feed?
