Methinks Mrs. Bush has the wit and charm to handle this episode at least as well as her mother-in-law handled a similar situation (at Wellesley?).
Sometimes the best thing to do is be quiet and let your enemies make fools of themselves.

The students want Paula Poundstone maybe? I am not famililar with the Daily Bruin. I presume it's in CA.

They should have invited Fidel Castro-- these students would welcome him with open arms.

It's a way to have students and the school more visible," Dorr said
Not sure that's a good thing ... ;-)

"We're disappointed that the selection for a student event had no student input," said Estela Zarate, a doctoral student in education No Estela, Graduation is a School event. I typed that slowly, because I know you don't read too fast! Apparently at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Informational Science, adults are in-charge.

These clods protest because she isn't a leader in their field and therefore, according to their illogic, has nothing to offer them. Ironically, they have nothing on their CV's, no experience in their field. They are getting a much higher quality speaker than they deserve, based upon THEIR credentials.

Students in the Graduate School of Education & Information They'd like Bush if they knew how to gather information.
Watford then read a quote in which Bush allegedly admitted to becoming a librarian to expand her dating circle.
Well, the students are learning how to become socialist propaganda artists and homosexuals.
I vote Mrs. Bush is much better qualified to speak on the subject of educated information. She can read.
"We will not stand by and allow her presence to go uncontested," Zarate said.
"Only we, the ignorant academia pawns have the right to free speach!!!!"

SOmeone with a career in Education does not have the credentials to speak to graduates of a school of education. Huh?

These so-called students should be ashamed of themselves.

"The commencement speaker should speak to us based on achievements in the field," she said. "(Bush) has no merit." What self righteous garbage! This is typical of the drivel that infests the leftist indoctrinated youth on campuses today. This type is going to be in for a real surprise when they exit the insular communist utopia of a university campus and have to enter the real world.

Watford then read a quote in which Bush allegedly admitted to becoming a librarian to expand her dating circle. How come they only interviewed snot nosed females for this article? I'll check for answers later, I've got to run to the library now.

Wow! Tough kids! She should obviously decline the invitation. I am sure that are many prominant Universities that would be proud to have the gracious Mrs. Dubya speak at their commencement ceremony. Well, maybe not in America.

Our future educators are tipping their hand. I say we should cut off the little pukes from their source of cash. ie: the fedeal government.

Watford then read a quote in which Bush allegedly admitted to becoming a librarian to expand her dating circle. Are people beating down the doors to date librarians or something? This is news.

Allegedly admitted?
Sounds fabricated to me, unless it was an offhand remark to get some interviewer off her back.

Young, stupid, and so misguided!

These 'educators' cannot even bear hearing the words of an opposing position. These 'educators' are graduating eneducated. If they only heard the opinions repeated and reinforced that they came in with then they will be going out with the same undeveloped 'feelings' masquerading as deep reflection. They all need mental enemas.
Why should Mrs. Bush lower herself to speak to these hillbillies?
