Tauzin: Bush Not Involved in Enrongate

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Rep. Billy Tauzin said Sunday that his committee's probe into collapsed energy giant Enron has failed to uncover any evidence implicating the Bush White House in the scandal.

The Louisiana Republican was asked about Enrongate by "Fox News Sunday's" Fred Barnes:

BARNES: In your investigation have you uncovered anything that implicates the Bush administration in any wrongdoing? Or in any involvement at all in the Enron affair?

TAUZIN: Not in the scandal. I mean, obviously they were friends. Obviously Enron was a big supporter of the president. And Ken Lay was a personal friend and supporter. And, as well, Enron supported many members of Congress, both Democrat and Republican.

But as Jim Greenwood said I think last week, he and the investigators that work for our committee found no involvement of Bush officials in the scandal. (End of Excerpt)

Greenwood, the Pennsylvania Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, is conducting his own parallel Enrongate probe.

Tauzin also told Barnes that he'd uncovered no evidence that Enron officials had any undue influence over Bush Energy Department appointments.

You mean like "Whitewater" and "Clinton"?

Yep. My "test" sister said "Monica, Impeachment, lies, 9/11, and recession" when I used the word "Clinton."

When did Congress ever have criminal investigatory powers? Obviously they can make anybody testify, but they're not the justice department. Their intent is not to seek answers, they want more government regulation (CFR). Check Dashole's legislation back list and ask yourself why the 50 plus bills continue to sit while this overrides all else?

I hear what you are saying but when in the last eight years has the (criminal) Justice Dept. done its job of dispensing proper justice properly?

Nor have I noticed any change, on the horizon, for the better with the present AG.

If neither the Congress nor the (criminal) Justice Dept. will prosecute their own (criminals) then what is left?

This bunch of liars and thieves in the Congress and the (criminal) Justice Dept. are jerking the people of America right out of their socks with their pointing at other members or the other party or other administrations as the culprits and not at themselves.

The words in the Bible that says "and the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not" readily fit these men and women of the Prosecutorial, Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches of our government and who also sit confidently in the darkness of their self centered machinations.

This was intended to be a representative governance that we are supposed to have, but has in reality morphed itself into a grand experiment on how to line your own pockets and laugh at the fools who let you get away with it.
