TRULOCK CASE AGAINST WEN HO LEE DISMISSED AT REQUEST OF PRESIDENT BUSH

Bush Justice Department's Actions Protect Convicted Felon Who Violated National Security

Judicial Watch To Appeal Lower Court's Grant of Bush Administration Request

(Washington, D.C.). Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, has been litigating defamation lawsuits against convicted felon Wen Ho Lee and others who, to deflect blame for their own actions, slandered and libeled Trulock. Specifically, as part of a media, public relations campaign, these defendants claimed in widely published reports that Trulock had singled Wen Ho Lee out for prosecution because he is ethnic Chinese, a variation of the O.J. Simpson defense. As a result, Trulock, a hero who blew the whistle on the biggest breach of nuclear security since the Rosenbergs at Los Alamos National Laboratories, lost his job and had his reputation destroyed.

A later government report which issued in Judicial Watch's litigation on behalf of Trulock proved that he had not engaged in “racial profiling.” Nevertheless, Wen Ho Lee recently published another defamatory book making these and other claims, further damaging Trulock, who is now destitute and penny-less. It hit the bookstores on January 15, 2002.

During discovery in the cases brought for Trulock, Judicial Watch obtained admissions from Wen Ho Lee that he had never been discriminated against, and did not even know what racial profiling is. Further, he was forced to admit that the government had valid reasons to investigate him.(emphasis added)

Nevertheless, just days before trial, which was scheduled to begin February 19, the full weight of the Bush Justice Department was used by the administration to intervene in Judicial Watch's private cases for Trulock, to argue that if the trial was allowed to proceed, that national security would be violated.

The lower court granted the Bush Justice Department's request to stop the cases this afternoon, on the eve of trial. Judicial Watch will appeal on behalf of Trulock.

Already, another case filed before the same court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, which was dismissed, has been reinstated by the Fourth Circuit. This reinstated case involves Trulock's claims against former FBI Director Louis Freeh for violating his constitutional rights.

“The Bush Justice Department feared that if the Trulock defamation cases went to trial that it would be embarrassed for allowing Wen Ho Lee to violate national security, and for this reason conjured up a bogus argument, backed by secret CIA affidavits submitted to the court ex parte, that trying this simple defamation case would itself breach national security. This action by the administration amounts to a cover-up of the negligence of the FBI, which allowed Wen Ho Lee to pick the pockets of the American nuclear arsenal. To this day, Lee cannot account for the whereabouts of the secrets he stole,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

I don't think Trulock was bad; just a misled screw-up. The Clinton appointees were BAD. Wen Ho Lee (a fellow American citizen) was profiled and persecuted. It's Richardson's turn to sit in the cell where Lee spent a year.

I believe Trulock AND Wen Ho Lee are innocent men who got caught in the crosshairs of the Clinton's. When it was discovered that our secrets were going out the door to China (by Clinton), someone had to cover his treasonous butt. Wen Ho Lee had the "looks" of just what they needed to convince the sheeplee. As far as Trulock, Wen Ho Lee was not the only one he suspected. Wen Ho Lee pleaded guilty to ONE count out of 59 counts charged by Reno's Justice Dept because he did not want to take the chance of going to trial because Reno said he could get life in prison if convicted. Reno & Clinton HAD to have him plead guilty to something for public consumption. The judge in the case apologized to Lee at the end & said something to the effect that the federal government had acted disgracefully & had given the justise system a black eye. I hope President Bush gives him a FULL pardon. I have determined that Larry Klayman needs to get a life since he has not settled ONE case in all these years. Where are the verdicts in Chinagate, Filegate, travel office gate, etc.? Has anyone noticed that the media never gave Klayman the time of day when he was going after the Clinton Administration, but now that he is going after the Bushies, he has become the media darling. He has been on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC. Nuff said! By the way, Klayman is going after the VP to get the Energy Task Force records and he has gone into cahoots with the GAO & turned over all the work he has done on the case to them at their (GAO's) request. I believe the case was argued in court today 2/12. The VP is going to win if he doesn't get one Clinton's corrupt judges.

Thanks for the heads up!

This part was particularly curious to me: conjured up a bogus argument, backed by secret CIA affidavits submitted to the court ex parte, that trying this simple defamation case would itself breach national security.

Considering the employment of Wen Ho Lee's wife - I have been wondering if he was part of a counterintelligence operation somewhere along the way. Or maybe they just want the Chinese to think that the information they got contains fatal flaws. Hmmm...

Too bad we can't know what is in the CIA affidavits.

I agree, but what if it would cause national panic?

We already know that the Chinese have gotten a hold of EVERY single nuclear weapon design in our arsenal. That is stated in plain English in the Cox Report. Here's a gem I got out of the text that I downloaded from the Washington Times 2 years ago:

"The stolen U.S. secrets have helped the PRC fabricate and successfully test modern strategic thermonuclear weapons. The stolen information includes classified information on seven U.S. thermonuclear warheads, including every currently deployed thermonuclear warhead in the U.S. intercontinental ballistic missile arsenal. Together, these include the W-88 Trident D-5 thermonuclear warhead, and the W-56 Minuteman II, the W-62 Minuteman III, the W-70 Lance, the W-76 Trident C-4, the W-78 Minuteman III Mark 12A, and the W-87 Peacekeeper thermonuclear warheads. The stolen information also includes classified design information for an enhanced radiation weapon (commonly known as the “neutron bomb”), which neither the United States, nor any other nation, has ever deployed. In addition, in the mid-1990s the PRC stole from a U.S. national weapons laboratory classified U.S. thermonuclear weapons information that cannot be identified in this unclassified report."

If this is the unclassified version, I'll bet the classified version would really knock your socks off.

What would really shake up the populace is the extent that Bubba Klinton personally benefitted. I couldn't help but notice that Bubba ain't looking too hard for a job. He sure is travelling a lot and spreading around money, too. Hmmm... I think that the real dirty secret is to what extent Bubba benefitted personally and the details as to how many politicians including Bush were looking the other way. And if that gets out, the government would be facing some serious calls for accountability instead of the low-grade griping that they're hearing now. The politicians are riding a serious gravy train. They don't want Bubba to screw that up.

Your #5. Exactly. Some of Bush's actions do not make sense otherwise.

If you still lurk this site ol' buddy, your choice of counsel is yours to make....most of us here wish you the best, hope for your eventual vindication and hope that circumstances turn to give you justice. The bravery of your attention to true duty for your nation does not go unnoticed or unhonored, just unrewarded.

He may have sold all of America ; it's vaunerable areas, it's valuable sites, it's entire network.

Aldrich Ames on a presidential scale. I could see that.

If that's true, we would have no choice but to hit China with a full-on nuclear first-strike. And Bush's call for radical reductions in the nuclear arsenal is a big piece of disinformation I'll bet. That's gotta be a hell of a choice to make. I wouldn't put it past Klinton for a second. Maybe this is why he is overseas all the time and never stops moving.

On the one hand, they think of the US as "hegemonist," while on the other hand they admire the US for being "advanced." Though filled with "disgust" for Washington, they nonetheless felt a longing to be in the US.
