While the Euro-Weenies are whining, the Japanese are quietly supporting the U.S. It was here that the North Koreans test fired missles. Instead of wetting their pants or telling the U.S. to tone down the rhetoric, the Japanese are actively beefing up the defenses here and offering to cooperate with the U.S. on theatre missle defense.

This hasn't gone unnoticed by the North Koreans who denounce Japan as regularly as they do the United States. The Euro-weenies evidently didn't get their fill of tyranny during World War II like the Japanese did.

Our (so called) allies tried the non-confrontational approach with Hitler, as he picked them off one by one...

Some dumb ba$tards just never learn.....

The US can do without the European 'allies'.

My fellow Europeans are always turing their eyes from danger and evil, hoping it will pass eventualy.

And goldstategop, you are right about the way the Eurowhinies hate Bush like they did Reagan. The Dutch national media is trying to take down Bush at every available occasion, just like they did with Reagan: Reagan/Bush is dumb, Reagan/Bush is only making popular statements. And they make us believe Clinton was on of the best presidents the US ever had. And people acually believe it.

One would think the Euro's, after two World Wars stirred up in their neighborhood, would have finally learned that sticking your head in the sand and hoping the problem will go away only leads to more and more emboldened attacks from and enemy sworn to the destruction of the Western ideology of democracy and capitalism.

With such a long history of events in Europe they seem to take nothing from thoses events. The Islamists have been at their "jihad" for centuries and now they are close to acquiring weapons of mass destruction and the delivery vehicles for them.

Screw the Euro's. Either they are with us or they are against us in the war against fanatical Islamists. We can certainly go it alone. But if we do, I say we pull every American soldier out of Europe.

I do believe the administration has intelligence that shows that Iran is a larger threat thatn Scowcroft, Hagel, etc. think.

The evidence the public has is the arms shipment as well as Iran's aiding Al Queda out of Afganistan, but there is probably much more there.

The Japanese are quietly supporting the US, as is the primary opposition party, openly, in South Korea.

Notice also how little opposition we have heard from the Russians, the Philippines, Malaysia, our other pacific allies, even the Chinese, have been remarkable by their lack of bluster. Token public recitations are about all.

Except from the Europeans...who are raising a howl. Why? Besides them and the terrorists themselves, NO ONE ELSE is making much of a stink at all.

What's up wit' dat?

I am not a Kristol fan but this is a GREAT line. He is precisely correct, and if you've read the European hysteria about Bush's speech you'd know Kristol nails it here.

this would matter how?

It is a salient bit of political intelligence. The Dems are pretending to be standing "shoulder to shoulder" with Bush on the war; obviously when they're on foreign soil they feel much more comfortable revealing their true colors. Thus as time passes we can expect them to snap to their default settings. I think it is extremely valuable information.

why it was New York and the WTC, as opposed to anywhere else

Because everywhere else is already on their team.

As long as the terrorists are targeting America, the Euro-elites can remain in their critical mood. When Europe becomes an inviting target for the terrorists, the Euro-elites will change their minds.

These monkeys thought the same when Reagan declared the USSR the "Evil Empire". The Left here in the USA freaked out over that statement as well.

When Reagan made his "Evil Empire" declaration, 350 million inhabitants of the Soviet Union agreed: " Finally, an American President understands." They were encouraged to rise up and overthrow their Communist masters. I do not believe this is quite the same situation with Bush's "Axis of Evil" claim.

They're nervous? Hmmmmm...maybe they have something to hide? Who are they with? The terrorists or with US?

I think they know they have Islamic Terrorist cells all over Europe. These Elites would rather take the Saudi approach: Bad mouth the terrorists, but give them the support they need.

Say, member since January 27th 2002 . . .

Most of us do not include the Brits (readers and fans of the Guardian excepted) among the "Euro-weenies."

As for your implication that "we deserved it," such vitrol is on the same level of those who said the Brits deserved being bombed for being the only country to stand against Hitler for nearly the year after the fall of France.

When we start seeing a few more Europeans realize we are fighting their battle too and a few less crying about our tratment of the detainees in Gitmo, you will see a lot fewer references to "Euro-weenies" by Americans, 3/4th of whom still have blood ties to Europe.
