Daschle: Stimulus Bill Appears Dead

WASHINGTON - The economic stimulus bill that President Bush says will hasten recovery from recession appears dead in the Senate and will probably be shelved, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle said Tuesday. Daschle, D-S.D., said neither Republicans nor Democrats will have the 60 votes necessary to win approval of their competing measures — and that the Senate will take up other business on Wednesday.

"It's with great regret I will pull the bill tomorrow," Daschle told reporters Tuesday.

Exactly.

Never mind, Daschle, you twit; the economy will be coming back JUST FINE, without you, you little snot.

60 votes, my butt! (I hope we remember this when WE get the Senate back.)

KQQL, now we can have a balance budget, since the GOVT wouldn't be spending the $ 70 Billion plus dollar in this so -called stimulus..

America gets what it votes for..........
This will hurt rat senators for the 2002 election in GA, MO, SD, MN .....and possibly in MT...

Too bad the unemployed whose benfits expire, will not get 3 more months of saftey net..

The Democrats are sinking fast. These dumb games will catch up to them soon enough, like come November.

I'm sorry. I thought you only need 51 votes to have a bill pass the Senate

No under new Senate rules, all GOP-sponsored bills will require 100% Senate approval, to be phased in over ten years, starting with 60% in 2002.

What the blazes does this mean? ""It's with great regret I will pull the bill tomorrow," Daschle told reporters Tuesday." Deep regret????

If the wienie "deeply regrets" something he's going to do tomorrow, why the heck is he going to do it?
Another example of Daschle- silly speak.

That Stimulus bill would have added 13 more weeks of unemployment for so many people out of work. Dasshole will be looking for a new job come November.

That's funny. I could have sworn that it took only a simple majority for bills to pass the Senate...

We need both Zell Miller and John Breaux. We need McCain to resign for his health and have a Pubbie appointed from Arizona. We need for the UNIONS to start leaning on Daschle.

I am so sick of this little weasel, who is nothing more than a Clinton puppet!

Don't you get it? He and Hellary WANT the stock market to tank, they WANT Americans to lose their jobs, they WANT the economy in a downward spiral, and would be DELIGHTED for America to go into a Depression which they would blame on President Bush!!! so they can "win" House seats in November! They believe if they make the economic PAIN felt by more Americans, than they will WIN THE HOUSE and KEEP the SENATE! And they could be right because Americans in pain tend to blame the President in office at the time.

That is their plan and they could care how many Americans lose their jobs, their homes, their autos, their life's savings in the meantime.

Somehow, SOMEHOW, the Republicans have got to stand up and shout like crazy about this! President Bush has got to go before the American people - TONIGHT if possible - and have an urgent talk with America! about what is going on and why this is so disastrous for this country! Let the Dems follow it with their pukey little waterboy Dasshole.

But this calls for DRASTIC and I MEAN URGENT, action, Mr. President!

Check with the IRS. It's not an advance but a rebate. There is a discussion thread here somewhere about this.
