While the former veep praised President Bush for is stewardship of the war on terrorism, he warned that the country needed new leadership that would make finding energy "substitutes and alternatives and conservation" a priority.
Have any of you fellow FReepers even imagined how 9/11 and this war would have been handled if GORE & LIEBERMAN had won the election?

Let's face it guys, we would support him on the war on terror, just as the Dems are doing. We would support his handling of the war, but not on his domestics. Don't you think?

Your post # 14 is exactly right. I was even thinking Gore would be cowaring in a closet making a phone call asking how to react like a man. What a total jerk he is !!!!

Ponder this thought. In less than 30 days we were fighting with the NA.We had CIA operatives in place, people on the ground that could speak the language. You cannot feasably do that in less than 30 days unless you had it planned long before. Now,if the CIA was in place in Afghanistan long before 911,wich I think they were,I am sure that some tribesmen probably got that word to OBL.

I would support gore on the war if he did it right but he wouldnt he would go through the un way to much and there would be no ground troops on the ground in afghanistan and iraq wouldnt be worried as they are now

He would have had the 1st Special Forces Counselors covertly dropped into Afghanistan in an effort to help the Taliban get in touch with and understand their feelings towards the United States.
Next, he would have offered them an economics package to train their pilots and rebuild their airlines, since it's rather obvious that they need them, otherwise, they wouldn't have hijacked ours.
Following that, he would have apologized on behalf of the United States for all wrongdoings that the Talibums could imagine.

Think hard. If not George W., which team would you want running things?

You are right!
Well it had to come to war sooner or later. We cannot co-exist with pondscum like Al-Queda. We must fight them.

Most of the same people that Bush relys on would have been in place for Gore to rely on. Are you off your rocker? You don't really mean that, do you?
We'd have Joe Lieberman, Maddie Albright, Sandy Berger, Bill Richardson, et al., instead of Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney, and Powell.
What's the matter with you?

Our country dodged a very big bullet when supposedly dumb Dubya brilliantly outwitted divinity school flunk-out, pothead Gore and his army of high priced trial lawyer vermin dispached to steal the election.
I personally blame Gore, the Clintons, Terry McAuliffe and the rest of the DNC infestation for the mass murder of 9/11 and thereafter, by their corruption and emasculation of the Dept. of Justice, INS, CIA, and FBI.

To: walrus954
No, because Gore wouldn't have gone to war. We wouldn't have any thing of value to support. He (Gore) might go so far as toasting a few camels like BillyBob did, but he doesn't have the necessary male parts to do what Bush did.
To: GrandMoM
He would have had everyone hold hands, sing Kumbaya and hug a tree for peace.

Indeed,Islam has been a thorn in our side for a long time. Can anyone immagine the amount of inteligence the president is subjected to every day,day in and day out,it's a wonder the man can get any rest at all.

Agree! (LOL about France!)

The White House crater would be just about excavated by now and congressional hearings would be asking the question why were flights not grounded across the nation in time to prevent further attacks. The weekly Osama bin Laden press statements would be not helping the 40% Approval rating for President Gore as he attempted to try to get UN condemnation of the Taliban.scary how close to the truth this would be

gore would hold a " terrorist grievances" hearing or summit, to understand just what we did to piss off the terrorists. distinguished guests yasser arafat, king assad, madeleine albright, fidel castro, osama bin laden, and bill clinton, would air grievances and complaints against the US. gore would graciously agree, apologize for the errors or the united states' ways, and promise to make things better for the terrorists, so they wont hate us so much, and thus, wont feel compelled to express their anger and frustration with our evil nation by driving planes into symbols of evil capitalism and freedom. You know scary you posts sounds? The thing is, is that you are probably not far from the truth on that.
To: GrandMoM
I don't know what he would have done, but I know it would have lacked SPINE !!!
Thank God for President Bush and his fine team.

Bush knows how to pick a good team and delegate duties. In this way he reduces his burden to making policy.
