when the alternative weekly Houston Press raised similar issues in 1997, she said: "Anything my staff does in my office is pursuant to congressional rules

Any time she uses a big word, you know she's bulls---ing.

What an absolute pig. Bumping this up. This article bespeaks of genuinely crass and unstatesmanlike behavior. This arrogant, self-impressed woman needs to get down on her knees and have a long discussion with God. She has forgotten, if she ever knew it in the first place, how to be gracious and dignified.

Mornin StarFan-just wanted you to know that I am printing out the article so that I can have it in hand when I make my call to this flying monkey's office shortly. Sometimes staffers will ask questions about where the information is coming from....

"Jackson Lee got back on board with Continental, but not for long. In May 1999, as Continental flight 1961 prepared to leave Reagan National Airport in Washington, Jackson Lee became flustered when she couldn't find her purse. Thinking she had left it in the boarding area, she went back to search for it. Meanwhile, the plane pulled away from the gate. Moments later, her purse was found onboard. According to aviation lobbyists at the time, Jackson Lee demanded that she be let back on the flight. Airline employees explained that FAA rules prohibit planes from returning to the gate once they've taxied away, but Jackson Lee was unconvinced. She accused the gate staff of racism and demanded to see their supervisor, who was a black woman. Her purse, meanwhile, was unceremoniously dropped out of the cockpit window and ferried back to her."

Of all the incidents in the article this one makes me laugh the most. I can just picture her looking out the window at the gate as her purse is dropped and falls to the ground. I'm kinda surprised her head didn't explode.

My first reaction to SJL stories is outrage, followed shortly thereafter, by guffaws of disbelief. The woman who doesn't know the Moon is different from Mars. Why we have such buffoons in Congress is incredible in and of itself. I'd rather have a Magic 8-Ball casting her vote. It would make more sense.

She does not believe that any rules or laws, for that matter apply to her.

As to Ken Lay, he spent more time in bed with bill clinton than hillary did.

I was told that there is a difference in philosophy between democrats and Republicans. I voted for Republicans so they could battle democrats in '00 and in '98 along with '96.

As far as I am able to see, the major difference between a democrat and Republican is in the spelling.
I understand that people say that there are differences, but I believe my lying eyes over what I hear said.

SJL is like the kid going after cookies in the cookie jar. They will continue to do it until their hand is slapped.

If the ethics committees and justice dept don't slap her hand, they are just as abusive of the rules.

There's entirely too much politicin' goin on in Wash these days. I predict that GW will get slammed in the future for playing political games rather than enforcing the laws.

During the impeachment hearings for X42 my son and I made up names for the participants, asuch as Gerald Little (Gonad)ler.

The congresswoman's correct name is Sheila (she ain't no Stonewall) Jackson - (she ain't no Robert E.) Lee.

I forget what took down her predecessor, Craig Washington.

Craig Washington's claim to fame was that he rarely showed up for work. While that is a good thing for us, it doesn't look good on the resume.

I don't recall if he lost the primary to Queen Shiela or just decided to bow out.

. But somehow, her supporters need to discover how she places herself so far above them that she can not represent their interests.

Her supporters most likely identify with her and love it that she is trashing the man because they think of it as themselves doing it.

I did a little research and found out that her predecessor, Craig Washington, was defeated in the primary. My guess would be that the Dems put the money behind Queen Shiela because they wanted someone that would actually show up to vote for the Socialist agenda.

Bump and looking for reports of those that have contacted her office this morning.

The staffers are fully aware of the article if they read their e-mail. I will be calling shortly -- just as soon as I find her number.

You will get the royal run around. Called and spoke to Roshan (sp?) and after raising my question was promptly disconnected. Called again and spoke to John who claimed he was new and couldn't confirm whether she is driven one block to work. After asking my name, he asked that I hold for Roshan who kept me hanging at least 3 minutes.

When I again raised the question with Roshan, she said "we cannot discuss where the Congresswoman lives and you will have to call the capital police".

"So, what you're attempting to tell me is that she does not live a block away"? I asked with disgust and she promptly said that was precisely her point. I told her from what I've read and seen, I believe the article and will be sure others are made aware of it, and she hung up.

"They want to know that the days of free meals and free trips and special privileges are over. . . "

Thanks, Shirley. That's why we've been trying to get rid of Welfare.
