FReeper milagro posted on America the Right Way.. today, that her husband, 1John, died yesterday of a massive heart attack.
John was a fine man, who loved the Lord, his wife, and his country.
He had served in the military, and has a son in the military now.
Please keep milagro & the family in prayer.
This is such a shock to her, and completely unexpected.
Please let her know you are praying for her.
She told me John would be honored knowing he was mentioned on the Forum......as they both love Free Republic.
Thanks, and God bless.

So sorry to hear about John. I have walked your walk, although my husband died from lung cancer. Please check my page for more information.
Please know that my prayers are with you as you enter this new era of your life. It is not easy, to say the least.
Some helpful reading for me was:
On Death and Dying by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Kirschner
Hope this helps for now.

The best tribute to your husband I can make as a fellow veteran is this from the Bard -
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
All of us have lost today, for another brother is gone. My prayers go with you ma'am.
Sincerely,
Colt .45

Now I know what our President meant when he said he could FEEL our prayers. This morning when I "heard" John talking to me, he gave me a verse. "This is the day that the Lord has made--rejoice and be glad in it." My initial reaction was typically earhbound: easy for you to say, big guy!
But it was a true "verse of the day." My church family showered me with hugs and tears and made me so grateful that John and I were part of that "family of God." Then one of the kids in my Senior High Youth Group told me a "little voice" told her to come this morning--she has been "away" for a while--and she asked me to sit by her--which gave me such joy. At first I felt a big "oh dear" when I realized only my name would be on the communion card--but then I was gently reminded that John is having constant communion, and the thought made me smile!! Then, some kids from the Youth Group insisted on coming over to help clean my house--and they did a fantastic job! And then--the very best cause for rejoicing, John's daughter called and we talked--and she is coming to the service next Saturday. There is a long story about that, but I am very much "praising my savior all the day long" today--because he has given me such "blessed assurances" of His love--and John's--which, being gounded in God, never fails!
I was all day long feeling "uplifted", and I believe that has a lot to do with all the prayers and heart-felt messages that everybody here has offered up. So thank you--everyone--and God Bless!

Dear E**e*,
The time we spent with you and John at your church and at pizza were fun times but moreso they displayed the intense love that exists between you. That is something you can never loose. John's love will remain in your heart forever and, with that, you will never part. The love you share is a beacon to the world, displaying what a relationship can be if you are willing to give yourself to it so willingly and so completely. Remain happy with his love!
