i love your screen name. i bet you are one of the verrrrry few gop chicks in nyc. the "chicks" in nyc, im sure, would have a problem with the label "chick" due to their stuffy lack of a sense of humor. good for you!!

I was struck by her demeanor as well. Especially by her continuous emphasis on "dialogue."
But then I heard the WSJ letter which told the terrorists that Danny could be their conduit for dialogue. They emphasized his role as a storyteller a great deal. Maybe the WSJ instructed her in what to say. Maybe they think that if they sell this whole "tell your side of the story" angle to the terroriststhey can get Daniel out.
Just a thought.

Many leftists think that way.

I was amazed at her demeanor and attitude in tv interviews on Wednesday. Although the reporters introduced clips by calling them "impassioned pleas" to the kidnappers, her comments struck me as anything but passionate. It was more like she was "aloof" and uninvolved. A demeanor and attitude of maybe knowing that someone bigger than yourself is in charge? Seems like to me that you just described a true Christian.

Yes they have, and they actually did it before 9/11. Pakistan had a travel advisory issued in March or May of 2001.

This talk of blaming Daniel Pearl for being kidnapped is DISGUSTING! And I PRAY that they have not killed him and am holding out hope since they are still asking for money and haven't shown his body.

Was that the episode where they translate the alien book "To Serve Man" and everyone thinks they're so friendly. Then they complete the translation and it turns out to be a cookbook. I remember it well.

And when we catch them and cart them off to Gitmo...no creamcheese on bagels for them- I say...make 'em eat them dry!

You make an excellent point, smithson. The liberal British and American media has shamelessly and ignorantly worked up not a small number of people into a frenzy about this, and they should be partially to blame. Their Marxist political propaganda has turned on them.
Maybe they'll learn something from this, and stop the lies before another gets hurt.
Clintonism doesn't work anymore. It's time to come back to reality.
To: smithson
My sentiments exactly!!!!!!!!!!!

of course it has, but the liberal mindset is not based in reality. he does not deserve this fate of captivity, and heaven forbid, execution, but it is time for the feel gooders in america and europe to get their heads out of their rear quarters and realize we are dealing with evil thugs. the threat is serious, this war is not a joke.
To: Cinnamon Girl
Hey, I am not blaming him for being kidnapped, I am just saying that it is not the Governments, nor the Militarys responsibility to go and get him out. He took a massive risk and he knew the risks before he went.
It may sound cold and insensitive, but facts is facts.
To: Phantom Lord
Then you're absolutely right. Sorry to say, this guy is in trouble because he thought it didn't apply to him.
And if we DO go in and get him, send the bill to the WSJ.

And our military is supposed to risk their lives to kill those guys.
Agreed, but according to Rumsfeld's schedule and planning...not in an improvising manner convenient to the curiousity of the freelancing Mr. Pearl's schedule.
