Ali is the only American Muslim I have heard speaking out critically of the attacks of 9/11 and expressing American patriotism. I've been no big fan of his in the past but do respect this.

I also find myself wondering, in view of the deafening silence of Muslims in condemnation of the attacks , if some are speaking but the media won't tell us about it.

We need to keep in mind that the media, to a great extent, control what we hear. Even here on FR, the vast majority of our info is from some source in the media. Just try posting an article that doesn't have a source if you don't believe that and see how quickly you get flamed ..... :-)

I won't bore you with my opinion of cassius clay, who chose islam over the needs of the country he resides in, and remains in to this very day, sucking up freedom sucking up liberty, sucking up, generally. Any respect he gets will be when he renounces this stupidity, restores his name, and says he is sorry that he is a draft dodging boxer.

The liberasl press would be all over a story about American Moslems speaking out against terrorism. There aren't any supporting America over the terrorist publicly. Some may actually agree with America but they fear retaliation from other Moslems, if they do speak out.

They can not leave there religion because of fear of retaliation. This is truly an evil religion.

American Muslim? I have found few, if any of those. Muslims that happen to live in America? Lot's of those.

Islam. We have seen it in action. We have learned it's teachings and what it wants. It wants all that is not Islam to be Islam. Pretty simple.

I guess there is nothing like, say, "Thou Shalt Not Kill" in the Peaceful Religion Of Islam that Ali could remind the kidnappers of?

They're speaking, but the line goes something like, "Of course, we condemn these attacks, just as we condemn all terrorism, BUT...

Then we are told about "Israeli state terrorism", how we have to "address the root causes", "accept our responsibility", "don't do the same thing to innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq", blah blah blah... in the end, they all sound like the political wing of Jihad, Inc. Quick to redirect the blame back to America or to loudly complain about "racism and discrimination" against Muslims in America rather than address the sins of their own.

Apparently, many American Muslims (at least, the ones that have been getting air time) are like the American-German Bunde during WWII: loyal to the enemy.
