U.S. intelligence agencies have issued an internal alert that Islamic terrorists are planning another spectacular attack to rival those carried out on September 11.

The detailed warning was issued within the past two weeks in a classified report that said one target was a U.S. nuclear power plant or one of the Energy Department's nuclear facilities.

Islam is a peaceful religion.

All cultures are equally good.

Truth is relative. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Profiling is wrong.

Have a nice day. I'm OK, you're OK, we're all OK.

I'm going to watch Oprah on TV now.

But where are our fellow sane Americans?

There will be many more of them after the next successful major attack, which I fear will occur this year (and hope is prevented!).

We still aren't taking this seriously. For an example proving this, just look at the written Federal guidelines for airport security screeners, which explicitly state that national/religious (Middle Eastern / Muslim) profiling is not allowed. This wastes precious security resources strip-searching 5th-generation American grandmothers from Des Moines.

I dont care for their government any more than you do. And if the truth be known, the European government doesnt care too much for the American military. Prime example: I have a German friend that is married to an American soldier. The German government does not recognize the marriage, she is considered single to them. If/when they have kids she will be considered a single mother and put on their welfare system.

And you believed her?

I thought he did say that:

We'll be deliberate, yet time is not on our side. I will not wait on events, while dangers gather. I will not stand by, as peril draws closer and closer. The United States of America will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons.

I found that rather reassuring.

When is this going to end......why do we have to be threatened by these demons......

As long as oil money keeps coming in this may never end. It may even get worse.

You can bet they've melted back into the landscape. Who really believes that they gave genuine id's when they were stopped and questioned? And I also notice that they tend to have the Arabic version of "John Smith" for names--how can these people be traced, once let go? And why, for cryin' out loud, do we keep letting them go?

Kassie, if UBL became...unavailable...for any reason whatever, dozens of capable, murderous "management trainees" would be ready to step up to the plate. UBL's appearance recently suggests his health is so poor that if he's still alive, it's unlikely he's doing the real brain-work these days--but I'm sure he had plenty of staff to take up the slack.

"We still aren't taking this seriously. "

This is what bothers me most. When we continue to avoid using the word "terrorist" where it so obviously applies, when we let someone with explosives residue on his person just walk away from the airport, when we refuse to confront the truth of who the enemy is, we're really not taking this very seriously. We're still at the Cotillion, wearing white gloves and being oh, so politically correct and mannerly--and all the while, the other guests plot a bloody end to the dance.

In yesterday's NY Post print edition's "Cindy Adams" column, she was talking about "Middle Eastern" men behaving suspiciously on the NYC "F" subway line.

Anybody remember the old movie "The Taking of Pelham 123", about a group hiijacking a subway train and holding everyone for ransom?

Does anybody have any idea where these plants are located. I'm about 5 miles from a plant in a very populated area.

I wonder - does anyone in the US believe it will be possible to hijack a commercial airliner again and do what was done last September 11th? Even if they had guns, IMHO they would have to kill all aboard before being able to take it over. This would take a lot of ammo and pose a danger of rapid decompression should missed shots penetrate the cabin exterior. I submit that US passengers would sacrifice their all to prevent a repeat of the attacks, knowing that they are going to perish regardless. The spirit that carried Americans through Ft Sumter, Antietam, the Alamo, Omaha Beach, Iwo Jima, the Ardennes Forest, Chosin Reservoir, the Ia Drang, Dak To, and Khe Sanh live on in all of us. No Muslim can take us.

We stop it by promoting civil defence at home, by going after the training camps abroad, among other things so we can keep finding documents that reveal their plans, we paralyze their funding network, and we terminate regimes that sponsor and encourage them. Like the man said the other night. It can't be done in one fell swoop - it's going to take a long patient relentless effort. Very likely they will hit us at home again, maybe more than once, but if we keep up the pressure we'll be able to interrupt the vast majority of their attempts and protect the most disastrous targets. Welcome to life in history; it works like this.

You're right about commercial flights. However, there are still many planes that carry air freight and many, many private jets. A Gulfstream G5 can do plenty of damage.

The man disappeared before he could be questioned.

Just folded his arms and said, "Al-Shazaam!" and "disappeared in a puff of smoke, I guess. Somebody's head should roll for that one.
