Is it OK to ask where you are in the Pacific Northwest? I spend a lot of time in Eastern Oregon.

Hi Goody
I think both andysmom and westy live in the State of Washington
but I've never been to the Northwest
and can't tell you where

hi cookie
I know blue herons have their rookery (is that a nest)
near the town where westy lives
I've never seen a blue heron
but westy said they are beautiful in flight
(I guess like a crane)
Love, Palo

Sorry to be so long in answering your question...we have been out all day long...the hubby had only one day off from work, and today was it, so we made good use of it....

As to your question...We live in Olympia, Washington, which is about 60 miles south of Seattle...we have been here for 18 yrs. and love it...we were stationed at Ft Lewis Washington, and after the hubby left the military, we decided to stay here, and make it our home...

Before that, we lived in North Carolina, for five years, where the hubby was stationed at Ft. Bragg...we love our time in the south also...living in the south is almost like living in a different world...but we absolutely loved our time there...before that both my husband and myself had been born and raised in Chicago, married there, and had our two boys, before we set out in a military life...

So we have lived in mainly those three places, each one distinct, with its own charm...no matter where I live, or where I travel to, I never try to criticize a place...we always look for the good in the different places we live in or visit, and we always find great things about the place...
