I'm totally opposed to this nonsense that often comes from the Gay rights movement of trying to push homosex on the rest of the country, especially through school sex ed programs. Not only is it ridiculous and impossible, but it gives people like Rev. Sheldon an arsenal of armor piercing rounds to shoot back with. Having said that, I simply can't understand, for the life of me, why so many conservative Christians focus so passionately on homosexuality as the chief cultural threat to defeat. Promiscuous heterosexuality is, by far, the greatest threat to marriage and the family, not gayety.
Me too, but my suggested answer to that problem, is the elimination of the socialist construct known as "public schools".... not government control of homosexuals.

Her followers are not at all necessarily homosexual but they certainly have no moral objection to those who are, likewise with adultery. It is hard to worship la Rand while recognizing marriage as a contract. Rand is quite confused on matters of this sort. La Rand was a very jealous ideological taskmaster and would brook no heresy. To be a Randian one must learn to slavishly adapt to the values (???) of the Randian cult. She excommunicated Murray Rothbard for marrying an Episcopalian, no less.
Randianism, aka Objectivism, is more than just economic libertarianism or even libertarianism as to your personal "lifestyle." If you really want to be a Randian (and I am not suggesting that you do but rather that OWK is), it is regrettably necessary to regard religion as "the witch doctor." As with Margaret Sanger, don't believe me. Read Rand's shrill essays. She was the the ayatollah of godless capitalism. The godless part being at least as important as the capitalist part.
Finally, she urged people in her newsletter to vote against Ronald Reagan in 1980 because his election would be the worst thing that could possibly happen that year because he was opposed to abortion. To make a long story short, Ronald Reagan was elected and re-elected and probably did a better job than James Earl Carter did or Wally Mondale would have done even though both favored abortion.
As they say, the devil can quote the Bible to his own purposes. I have no doubt that OWK would abolish government schools as socialist institutions. That too is perfectly Randian but it is the advancing of moral degeneracy that was Rand's real forte. A close reading of her novels and their main characters also displays a soft spot for sado-masochism.
Many of us thrilled to Randian prose as unsophisticated teenagers. Most of us have grown up.
