No Founding Fathers? That's our new history.

The Pilgrims and the Mayflower also are excluded, as well as the word "war," which has been replaced with "conflict" in lessons about the early settlers, colonization and expansion.

Also gone are most references to the inhumane treatment many American soldiers endured in wars overseas during the 20th century. However, the standards specifically note that students should identify slavery, the Holocaust and modern Iraq as examples "in which people have behaved in cruel and inhumane ways."

Nathan Bedford Forrest, who killed 32 U.S. soldiers

You state that as if it is some sort of bane that should be hung around his memory. I'm sure Gen. Washington killed his share of British Empire soldiers, of which the colonies were apart of until the end of the Revolutionary War

How can you have history without historical figures? The Continental Army was led by a guy. Some other guy committed treason. Another guy said something about liberty or death before they hung him. The conflict lasted for a while. It was cold sometimes.

That is about the extent to which one will learn any history these days. Its the same in college where intellectual laziness can be summed up when any leftist calls them "dead white guys" as if to demean the fact that they founded what is the greatest country of human history.

True enough about George Washington, but we're supposed to be teaching history from the U.S. point of view, not that of Britain or Africa or Mexico. Those who praise Forrest et. al. should never lose sight of the fact that rebels in the 1860s killed 400,000 U.S. troops.

What has happened to your wonderful state? What has happened to your wonderful Princeton that once-great institution but now a bastion of political correctness?

From a Jerusalem Post article;

"Responding to harsh criticism by US officials, Arafat also made an appeal yesterday to the American people in a program on the Qatari satellite channel Al-Jazeera, asking them to compare the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation to their own against British forces in the American War of Independence.

"Did you ever accept the British occupation of the United States," Arafat asked. "Didn't George Washington fight, along with his people, until they freed the United States?"

Washington, Jefferson and Franklin et al are major figures in WORLD history. I'll bet the inventor of peanut butter makes the cut in this revised history book.

OUTRAGEOUS!

America's biggest Myth, "Public School Education".

The Dumbing Down of America continues unabated beneath our noses.

And there are so many who think Rush is out of touch in saying that.

So why are you afraid to spell out God in your post? It is wimps like you that enable these jerks. What the hell doe's spelling it G-d stand for other than your timidity to state what you believe in. If you won't spell out God on FR then where would you have the cajones to do so?

The suffragettes (like Ms. Anthony and Mrs. Stanton) were also opposed to abortion -- a fact that the feminists like to omit.

Recently I read that Lynne Cheney was writing a REAL history book for children, in order to correct P.C. nonsense such as this. I don't know if she has finished writing it yet.

One of the new tenets of the liberals is that "it is wrong to offend anybody." This is the doctrine on which they are abolishing any reference to Christmas, religion, etc.

Has anyone noticed that they turn this doctrine on its head when it comes to offending the most productive group in the country -- proud Americans? They deliberately seek out ways to demean us.

I say it's time to get all over them every time they try it. Let the world hear our offense at their disrespect of us.

Thank you for your hard work. The only way our kids are going to learn anything is if they're homeschooled.

"This is what you call a historical irresponsibility," said David Saxe.

"This is what you call blatant propaganda designed to dumb down America's children, so that they won't know what freedom is or how it works, thereby enabling the globalists to have little difficulty in the near future when they take away America's sovereignty and replace it with global rule," says Jefferson Adams.

Seems to be the case...

Many of us research long and hard in locating proper and true historical texts. There are a few curricula distributors who aid in this search by making available wonderful materials, thankfully. ;o)
