Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim
The bottom line ought to be, on FR: If it has no newsworthy content, then don't post it.
That goes for any and all Vanity posts as well.
P.S. If you MUST post a Vanity, put it in "Your Opinions/Questions". I've noticed that most stupid, pointless Vanities these days are put in "Miscellaneous." If you point out their faux pas, they'll claim they "didn't know". I don't believe them. I think they just want to make sure they can shove it in front of everyone's face (YO/Q has a "self-limited" audience).
Those posts are nothing BUT vanities. Do you really think the poster is interested in YOUR favorite movie/song/Beatle/football team/underwear fetish? The object is to gather as many responses as possible, so you can brag to your friends. Apparently there are those who consider that the way to gain fame on this forum.
I would suggest that, in keeping with the forum's original intent, one seek notice by the intelligence of his remarks, the depth of his research, or the keenness of his wit. Those virtues contribute much more to the advancement of conservatism than idle jabber.
Amen to that. I can't remember how many times I've been called a "pothead" here because of my anti-War on Drugs position. Unlike many self-professed tokers here, I've never done anything stronger than a Tylenol.
The wonderful research and thoughtful debate of many of the posters here at FR has served to sharpen my vision and broaden my awareness. I thank all of you who take the time to search out the truth.
Thank you Jim Robinson for allowing us the opportunity to exchange this information in a way never before possible.
Critiques that might include "bonehead, watered-down-leftist" phrases are harmless in the over-all scheme of things. Emotions do run high here. And, truth to tell, critiques are stimulating, thought provoking, and easily distinguishable from the newest type FR intrusion :
The one trick pony posters, who begin bashing Bush within hours of signing in, who seem to flit from thread to thread, subject to subject, always on message, "Bash Bush". These goobers are easy to spot, even easier to ignore. And if one of them stuck around long enough to contribute even a dime of financial support to Jim Rob, I'd be surprised.
Thank you! I am so sick of seeing these posts. I swear that the people posting those threads are doing so just to increase the hit rate at DU.
Then there are the posts that link to sites or quote from places like Sam Francis, Aryan Nations, quote from William Pierce, etc.--athough JimRob has done a good job at rooting out those creeps.
For me, FR is yoga on the net.
I unwind, have fun, and sometimes contribute.
That said, I certainly have to agree with Jim on the below.
"Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics)."
Should I be one of the culprits, humble apologies.
