WTC Flag Raising Petition Breaks 75K Signatures

The petition addressed to the New York City Government and to the Fire Department Administrators of New York City has surpassed 75,000 signatures since it was first posted on the internet on January 15th, a little over a week ago. The petition protests the proposed WTC Flag Raising memorial staute which changed the ethnicity of the fireifghters who actually raised the flag and used "pristine" models to poprtray the firefighters rather than depicting them in the exhausted, grimey and actual state they were in.

After a few short days of circulation, and in concert with a petition circulating within the New York Fire Department itself, and in concert with the tremendous outpouring of protest by email, by phone, by mail and by talk radio, the City of New York announced that it would scrap the proposed "altered" statue and "investigate" other options.

Many have asked why the petition then continues.

The answer is simple and straight forward. Item two of the petition calls for the City of New York and the Fire Department to scrap ANY politically correct or potentially "culturally diverse" memorial that does not reflect accurately what happened that day. Until a concrete plan is proposed that achieves this end, the petition will continue.

In addition, more and more people are now calling on the city to include the flag raising as it actually occurred as the memorial. The people, of all walks of life and across the spectrum of political affiliation, are upset that the flag would be considered as acceptable if it was altered, but somehow may not be acceptable if it is accurate. Such blatant politicising of this event has touched a raw nerve with the American people.

We are a diverse people, but in America we are also supposed to be a united people. That flag, that those three firemen raised, represents everyone of us. The planners needed look no further than the flag itself to see all races, sexes and cultures represented that come together to make us all Americans.

Now that there is "talk" and "press releases" of the these political and administrative planners bowing to the pressure and not creating such a depiction of the statue, I say BRAVO to all involved that we have perhaps helped influence them towards a correct decision. It is a shame that such pressure had to be brought to bear, but sadly, a reality of today's world and something that should not be forgotten.

But, until a final decision is reached and it is clear that they do not intend to attempt to revise history, I believe we should keep up the pressure. So, please continue to email, tell and point others to the petition.

LET US BURY ANY NOTION OF REVISIONISM OR "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" ASSOCIATED WITH THE EVENTS OF 911!

Several are looking at the possibility of actually delivering the names on the petition, bound into books, to the City of New York when the petition reaches 100,000 signatures and again when it reaches 250,000, 500,000 and one million, should it go that far.

I belief it should go that far and hope that it does in any case. A clear, unequivocal message MUST be sent that the days of "political correctness" and "diverse" agendas is done. We are Americans, from different cultures and ethnicities it is true, but united as Americans under our flag, under our Constitution and with our liberty.

I just bought some flags 3X5 foot, made in America at Sam's for $10.00. I understand what you mean. I also drive American cars.

But, in America, people have a right to to it their way. Probably why its getting harder for people to make a good wage. If this makes sence. Its late and my wife says I got to go to bed. Good nite all, sweet dreams.

"If we were able to go back and change history we would have stopped the planes from hitting the WTC in the first place."

You are so right and that is why we must keep the "light" burning. To remind everyone what we had and what we are losing. The dreams and reality we had as children are not the same for our children and grandchildren. We must bring it back to the way it was and should be.....UPDATE 78,485 With 1,515 to go....

The dreams and reality we had as children are not the same for our children and grandchildren.

We "boomers" allowed it to happen. We are fighting a rear guard action now hoping to turn the battle, and battle we must. Ronald Reagan's words haunt me almost daily:

the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let
our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief

A comment on the Petition that I just came across is both heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.

My brother was one of the firefighters killed that day. He tried to save individuals regardless of their race, creed, sex or anything else. He truly was a hero. To take away from other hero firefighters, in particular, the ones who raised our flag, is a slap in the face to those firefighters. The credit should go to where it belongs - have the faces of those who actually did the deed represented, not some politically correct and fictional occurence. This is a farce!

May God bless the families of all those who sacrificed their lives to try to save others!

It's so much more complicated than that.

Rather than changing the past, we need to prevent the future. At least the one that is planned for us, not the one we should have.

Because what I want to say covers so much time, it's hard to put in a few paragraphs, I hope You understand.

I believe Jesus is our Savior. I didn't until I had read enough of our history to show me the greed used to enslave us. When I was able to see the evil that was responsible for the "sacrifice" of millions of men, women, and children hidden in revolutions and wars, I was able to see what Christ faced for us.

Until that point, it didn't make sense. I mean what kind of god would make a being that he knew he would have to destroy, especially a perfect god.

I'm 47 and this was about 5 short years ago.

When I saw the magnitude of the evil, I was convinced God did exist.

I also believe in some way He led me to the things I have read (for different reasons).

Anyway, GREED has been used to corrupt some people enough, that they would enslave us.

I'm convinced that we won't win anything with guns (they have the money, and better toys).

The only way we stand a chance in hell, is to put God back above man. We are suffering from hundreds of years of mans rule.

The simplest way I can see to do that, is to unincorporate our Churches and hold our politicians to Gods' Laws. I believe our Constitution was formed around Gods' Laws so I believe everything is already in place to achieve that goal.

People just have to quit being blind and choosing to remain that way.

I also believe that the Bible can be like the stories of Christmas in "Scrooge", Christmas Future is really up to us.The Bible tells what will happen if we continue this course.

I've left out so many names and dates and happenings that lead me to my beliefs, but would be happy to list them. But maybe You already see what I see.

So true. I saw the leftist propaganda start in the sixties. While the majority of our boomers were being drafted and sent to Viet Nam and others working hard to support themselves. There were those who went to College on Mommy and Daddy's dime so they could protest, do drugs, and party etc. How they ever had time to get an education is beyond me. There is no way the majority of the people were against the war in Viet Nam. This is so untrue, I lived it. The ones who were against the war was only to protect their own hide and not for their fellow man or some "deep conscience" but boy did the media "spin" it. In my senior year in high school, I had a "new" teacher who taught US Goverment which was a required course for graduation. He was the first "Socialist/Liberal" I had the misfortunate to have to listen to. Needless to say, we had quite a few heated discussions. I demanded to be taken from that class and moved to another or I would not graduate. I was moved to another class with a "real" teacher. As time went on, everything seem tilted. Right was wrong, Wrong was right, up was down, down was up. Then thank God for Reagan and Rush Limbaugh. We the people who have never taken anything from this country but have always gave through blood, sweat, and tears have to be vocal and be heard. We can not allow the few to browbeat, threaten, and bully us anymore. We "boomers" who were the working stiffs, the Veterans, college students who actually went to College to get an education, Mothers who stay home to raise their children, etc must stand tall, be proud and be heard.
